View Full Version : GT-S Not Available with Fog Lights?

I bought myself a 2004 Celica GT-S with the action package on Jan. 17, but it wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I noticed it didn't have any fog lights, LOL. Was I jipped by the dealer, or are fog lights simply not available for a GT-S w/Action Package? If fog lights don't come with the Action Package, I'd like to know why?
A friend of mine who has a GT also told me that GT-Ss are suppsed to come stock with a TRD exhaust and it looks like mine doesn't. Is he right? Because I'm not too sure about that.
Lastly, what does GT-S stand for? :P

No, on the action package the foglights are an extra charge, about $500. They are included in the standard gt-s. Just go to wallmart and pick up some cyberwhite fog lights, they fit in there perfect.

Fog lights get deleted on action pkg option, but you can get after market ones installed if you've got $ left over.
Congrats on the GTS. Did you buy it new?
It's overpriced imo... by about 3-4k.
GT-S's dont come with TRD. Although dealers do install them.
Your probably gonna want a faster car in the near future. The GTS is fun but don't expect great things. The aftermarket is pretty ****ty and Im tired of waiting. I drive a GTS and plan on moving onto a diff. car in the near future. I've thrown in around $3k on my car and i regret it now that i need to sell.
I'd advise you to keep it stock. TRD exhaust at the most.. for your listening pleasure.

Yeah, I got it new. I graduated from university last spring and I decided it was time to replace my 1986 Nissan Sentra, LOL. Don't get me wrong, the old Sentra was superbly reliable, but I felt I needed something new. The Celica GT-S was the car I was thinking about for months, and I was so happy to finally get it at the start of the new year.
Well, at least I'm glad I didn't get jipped at the dealer with the fog lights and TRD exhaust. I'll just buy them seperately in the near future.
So does anyone know what GT-S stands for? I have an idea but I'm not really sure.

:stupid: 8400Redline, gimme a break man...if you want to make your Celica fast, there's plenty of parts there...just like BlueBomber said...
One example is the Hotchkis TVS...you put that on your Celica, and get good at track driving, and you'll be whooping a ton of HIGHER priced cars, STOCK.
People that complain about no aftermarket for the Celi, obviously haven't looked around enough.

I have a GT. I hate you all
8400Redline - Quit talking out of your ass. There is plenty of aftermarket support. Take a gander at all the parts. You can easily spend 8 grand on N/A stuff or 6 grand on F/I, or 2 grand on suspension. So much stuff.

thats all true, but who wants to pay almost 7K for a S/C and 5K for a Turbo
compared to the Greddy bolt on Turbos for the Hondas and Acuras, for the price of the XS kit you could have bought 3 greddy kits
Im not complaining, I love my car I just feel like FI for the GTS is outrageous

I agree the GT-S is overpriced several thousand. Congrats on your purchase though-its a very reliable car.

you can probably find some used fogs for cheap. i bought some stock ones (not trd) for $75 used.. and they've been working for about 1/2 a year now. all you really need is the housing itself, and if needed you can just buy a new bulb if it ever dies out.

Oh, Joseph congrats on the degree. You plan on going any further in education?
BlueBomber, ArchangelX and to all those who were offended by my "lack of parts" comment, let me clearify.
Notice my first statement of opinion.. "overpriced".
If you've got lotsa $$$, you can technically have aftermarket parts for ANY car.
*In the context of it being over priced as it is, it is very costly to raise significant HP on the celica. *
Im talking HP increase vs price you pay
So unless your fine with throwing down obscene amounts of money for your already overpriced car, there are better routes to take. I would rather own a $28000 Evo vs a $28000 Modded GTS
If you still disagree with this, drop me some more comments. And explain your reasoning. If not, then I'll take it you agree.

Redline I see what your saying somewhat now that you clarified. But buy your logic then just spend 20k on the srt4 and put 8000 in it and kick the shi* out fo both cars.

Most people know that obviously the celica isn't much of a fast car and that you can get a much faster one. I personally just love the looks of it inside out and it handles great. I know the aftermarket is slowing growing but if you wanted, you can have a decently fast celica. It may cost you a bit, but some ppl are willing to spend.
Joseph, it's your car so do as you wish as far as modding. If you're willing to spend a lil, you can end up with an awesome car. Here's a link to the install of the walmart fogs. Just stop by your local walmart and pick up a pair. http://newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115704&highlight=walmart+fogs
