I took out my vented sony 12 p5 with a 1000 sony amp from my Talon before I traded it in. I dont have the money for a new deck, but I want to install my sub in my 2000 celica GTS.
I just need to know if the stock deck has RCA outputs for my amp.
I dont want to open the side panels to my console for nothing.

No RCA outputs, but if you get the adapter for the deck, it will convert to RCA outs.

or you can get a line converter and hook it up to the signal wires of your rears. all you have to do to the deck is hook up a remote turn on. line converters go for bout 15 bucks

how good can that be
i know the stock deck sucks, but taking power from the rear speakers, is that even worth it?
how would I hook up a remote turn on to the deck if it doesnt have one, I could hook up the remote line from the amp to a switch coming off the battery, i wouldnt mind fliping a swtich to use the amp, would that hur the amp at all?

i have a 2000 "premium" system
i did the regular amp wiring,
4awg - power from battery
4awg - ground
with the remote turnon spliced to the appropriate wire on the back of the harness going into the stock deck.
i had 2 speaker wires each going to a rear speaker with proper polarities. from there i butt capped each and had that going to a line converter. it was from jensen and cost 15 ish. the rca's from there went into the amp i have and thats pretty much all.
it didnt suck like i thought it would and wasnt dificult to do either. no switch was necessary for the remote turnon.

You can get a device called a VENREM by a company caled Periferal. Most worthy audio shops will carry these.
It creates a phantom turn on lead from the signal input of the speaker output. I use these alot when using factory head units and we are a custom high end shop. It will sound fine and not rob power that you or anyone else could detect.
My advice though is that you tap the front speakers so when you fade the rear speakers out or just loud enuff to improve your front imaging, you do not loose your subs volume.

sounds good, im gona hit up rshack for the rca cables tomorrow
i just need to know one thing.
which wire should i splice the remote turn on from the amp into from the deck? I could just run it into the power, and maybe run a switch, what do you recommend?

the remote lead is blue possibly with a white stripe i cant remember
the TA03 is for installing a new head unit
you can run it to the power wire and switch it but thats unnecessary.

everything worked out great. Sounds a little muffled but its barely noticable. I couldnt find a power line that would go on with the deck, so i just hardwired the remote with a switch.
thans again guys
