does the AEM CAI have the same pipe diameter as the stock intake pipe?????
If they are the same it means i dont have to retune my PowerFC and i would then definitely in for a a short ram or CAI!!!
you can look it up in everythingcelica.com and search for AEM. or maybe Zcud can help you if he's got pics of his.

Yeah thanks dude.
But i what i really want to know and cant seem to find anywhere is:
Is the intake pipe to the throttle body on AEM / RMM / Injen CAI or Short Ram intakes the SAME SIZE as the stock pipe where the Mass Airflow Sensor is? If they are the same it means your computer will not need reprogramming.
Thanks

from what i understand....the AEM CAI start out with a very large pipe, then it tapers down to a smaller one for the MAFS and throttle body...altho there are a few threads that claim with the CAI, the larger piping slows down the speed of the air going through the MAFS, making it think the engine is getting less air when it was getting the exact same amount as stock (causing lean fuel trim/CEL).

From what i can remeber the intake pipe size is the same or only little bit larger then the stock intake pipe. To comfirm this i need to look for my stock intake box in my garage (i know its in there somehwere).
But i do believe even if the size are the same the AEM do brings in more air flow so the powerfc may still need to get retune.
I'll try look for the stock intake maybe tomorrow and let u know.
