i guess i have a more subtle taste that some you guys/gals. i like to my car to be as close to stock as possible. i will try to visit a dealer and see if they have any of these on their lot. this way i can get an idea of what it looks like in person

I like the first version of the Action Package better.

question...is the hood scoop functional???
my take...front headlamps look fugly, ESPECIALLY in yellow...black 'em out instead...taillights look too ricey...package overall looks more like a sleeper package than anything else, which i personally like...it's subtle, yet effective

I am probally the only one who really like BOTH action packages. I am biased cuz I own gen 1. But I like how gen 2 looks nice and clean and subtle. I love how it looks from the side. Very sleek. Not too crazy about the tails. the headlights would be cool on the black or C.Blue cars cuz they'd be color matched. Maybe now the TRD fogs will be made readily available for a cheaper price. I need them so bad!!! :( I really like that wing too, very Sport M like. and that new scoop is so sleek, but most people probally dont even realize that they changed it. They did good. They should've made new rims IMO for the action package at least. The 16's still look good and all, but new look, new rims I think. :)

It's the sport M scoop. It's raised but very slightly, and its rounded out on the edges, not sharp like C-One/VIS.

:D Actually I have never liked clear tails, unless you count when they first came out on the orginal Toyota altezza. The reason why I got the old meats is cuz they were black and matched my car color. Had I gotten any other color celi, well, I wouldve been rice free. :D

Sadly, It did the same for me as well. When I saw that movie, I had a POS '88 Ford tempo, unreliable as hell. Was looking into a used 95 prelude, or 2nd gen eclipse, but my mom convinced me to get a new car. So I went for the car I was in love with since I first saw it on the road in 2000.
But I've come a long way on my views of import mods since I first saw that movie. I like to think that my mods have become more tasteful as compared to when I first had the car.

Yup they can do that. I have pics of his work if you want to see. They polished Kenny's engine and rims, and powdercoated my Probe engine purple.
I am not sure about pricing.

Oh and powdercoating involves exactly what it says, coating with with a powder substance and then heating it to extreme temperatures so the powder melts and creates a coating. Much like ceramic coating etc.

well i have the ACT streetclutch. which is a bit more stiff than the stock clutch. the only reason i got an aftermarket clutch is cuz my clutch blew out in my tranny housing/bell housing. so i needed a clutch one way or the other
joe...i dont' think u should get the tranny work done if ur not going to seriously autoX. i mean it makes the car cling on to curves like no other. IMO it's not worth doing if ur not going to put it to use cuz u going to end up paying over 2g's for everything

and mike, how do you personally like the act street? im trying to decide on that or i can get the US TRD clutch for dealer list price. i havent been reading too many good things about the TRD, so i dont know. i got the act clutch in november and when i got it installed, i had them cut the clutch place surface. this way, it's already broken in. it's like driving a clutch that's been in the car for about 1-2k miles. cuz an aftermarket clutch is very stiff and grabs hard. by cutting the clutch plate, it stiffness of the clutch (cuz it's new) goes away.
many ppl are now noticing that aftermarket clutches grab higher of the floor than the stock clutch. i personaly don't mind it that much but some ppl hate it like that. plus since the clutch plate is heavier than the stock, it SOMETIMES has a hard time disengadging when you press the clutch pedle. so by getting this extended slave pushrod, it makes it easier to disengadge the clutch
i'm not too sure if i make my self clear, but if u want more info IM me.
here is the link for the shifter link bushings and the extended pushrod

The engine was polished in steps. But the intake manifold, nitrous lines, and valve covers were done all in one shot and it was about 4 days at most if I remember correctly. But it was a really busy time when we had it all done. The other parts were done piece by piece as they were gotten. We also had the brake calipers polished too :)
The powdercoating was a birthday present so I have no idea how long it took. Maybe 2-3 days.
BTW- I'll post the number this afternoon. It's in my car ;)

Cool, thanks Krysy. I'll probally do this in the summer, but it will definitely get done. :wiggle:
Mike, I see what you mean by not getting all that stuff if I dont plan on auto-x'ing but when my clutch goes out, wouldnt it be better to get an aftermarket clutch? And I thought LSD helps to have, especially on a GTS?
TRD's no good matt? Why not? I thought TRD would know the car better than anyone. :D

yes i do recommend you get an aftermarket clutch when ur stock clutch gives out BUT the LSD is a different story. YES it will "help" any car to have a lsd, BUT are you willing to spend that extra 1200 if your not going to really use it for whats it build for?? get me??

True, I see what you're saying. Well if I win the lotto one day then I'll get one. :D I didn't know it costs that much? I thought I saw a TRD LSD on ebay for 700 I think. Could be wrong.
Thanks Mike. :)

dont' get the TRD clutch type LSD. from what i've read and heard, it tends to squeak on and off. plus if ur getting a LSD, you best bang for the buck is a helical LSD. TRD discontinued it's helical LSD but another GREAT helical LSD is the quaife LSD which has a life time warranty if it brakes. that's about $1200

Your best bet to have them colored and not have to repaint is have them powder coated. There is still some maitinance to polishing something out. You still have to polish it on occasion to get that shine. Powdercoating however is maitinance free as far as I know..

Mmmm powdercoating the calipers. I need mine redone too. The silver is starting to fade. I'll ask them to do that too when i polish the engine pieces! :D
