New Corrola

Last night i saw a commercial for the new corrola...anyways it said that it has a 1.8L VVT-I engine. now i remember a turd at the toyota dealer said that the celica GT, corolla, and matrix all have the same 1zzfe engine....Ok my question is, why did the comercial say it had only 130 HP and not 140?

Same engine, but probably different intake, intake manifold, exhaust, and/or ECU. Kinda like how the Celica SS-II (aka GT-S) in Japan makes around 190hp.

Yeah, I work for Toyota here in CT. Exact same engine as Celica GT, but a differently routed intake and the exhaust is obviously different. GREAT riding vehicle by the way, and yes, the S model has a full ground effects kit. Nice interior compared to previous years.

i saw one today. an old man was driving it with the OEM kit. i must say id rather get that than a civic with a fart can. then again im just a toyota biased person..:gap:
