Get the Goodyear Gatorback belt while you're at it. No more squealing from a broken belt tensioner.

Could you please elaborate on this. Why would the Goodyear belt be better than an OEM model? What is different? and you have seen first hand a squeaky belt tensioner be "cured" by placing a Goodyear belt on?
thx

Thanks for the explanation. I put a gatorback on the wife's car but hadn't looked into things this much.
You have this on your Celica then?

I ordered one for 45 bucks at autozone, hey blue, you think toyota can install it for me when replacing the belt tensioner instead of the oem belt? I'm going in for service this sat.

well.. put it in along w/my stock pulley... fixed all my electrical issues i was having w/the carputer... all in all.. wasn't difficult... just a bit time consuming and getting the bottom bolt off the alternator wasn't that easy

Ouch that is alot. But then again my friend had to spend 200 for a O2 sensor from the factory because the auto shops don't have one for it yet.

Exactly. Which is why I should get to use my own stories..
I blew out one of my low beam bulbs and I went to Toyota to get one. One of those bulbs cost $47.00. I was like damn, that's too expensive for one bulb. I went to Autozone and found the same exact bulb for $15.00. Toyota is making a damn profit on their oem products.

Been done for a while. Sell the main product cheap and mark up the accessories.

Every dealer does. It cost me nearly 125 bucks to get A radiator fluid change when I wanted to know why my old car was over heating. The never did tell me why but the fluid change which they had to perform and the labor still amounted to 124.99 and all they had to do was fill it up:angry:

really??? A part that cost less than $15 at any other place sold to me for around $70??? Thats a 5X original "retail price" jack man  I would think anyone who has been jacked would feel better because they were not screwed as badly. :chuckles:
