1971 Chevelle thats been bored out. Used to be a 396.......used to have 300hp. Now my guestimate (never been dynoed) is about 408 cubic inches and around 400hp/450tq.
He is the original owner of the car.....some 33 years later. I'll see if I can locate some pics.

too bad the meat's only at 215...on a 17x7, you can squeeze a 235-series tire on, but just barely...only issue is balancing, so only a good shop will be able to do it for ya
17x7 is actually kind of an odd rim size b/c there aren't very many sporty 225-series tires, and 235's pushing it but still doable...215 is the most common for the spec
my stock rims are 17x7, and i currently run Pilot Sport A/S's in 225/50's, but the fact that they're all-season tires sacrifices performance over the regular Pilot Sports...my summer setup uses a 17x7.5 rim which gives me freedom to use anywhere between 215 and 245-series tires, and i run Pirelli PZero Nero's in 235/45's, which are hella better than the all-season's

Awesome!!! :AF: Post some pics if ya can.
I hope that one day I can keep this car in good enough shape to make it into a classic. I dont plan on selling it, ever. It's my first newcar and I'll be paying for it for the next 6 years! :D

i have 2 sets like this(not my ride). Looks like ur old man will run into clearance issues with bigger brakes. i'd recomemnd ur old man change the spoiler. get a Kaminari wing. That and some springs. get in touch with MauroMotorsports, he specializes in Subaru stuff.
