This weekend I got pulled over for not signaling my lane change :0, and the sheriff walked me around my car pointing out to me all the stuff that wasn't legal on my Celi. White bulbs, intake, exhaust, no front plate (OK, guilty there).
He let me off with only the failure to signal ticket, whew!!! He said that the intake and exhaust must meet CARB requirements.
Now I know the intake probably won't but I thought I saw someone post a TRD certificate giving CARB approval for noise AND CA emissions.
CAN SOMEONE POST THIS CERTIFICATE!!!
Sheriff said to keep this in the car to avoid trouble later, I'm all for that.

Nah, TRD is 10 miles away, two blocks from my wifes' work. I'll drop by and pick one up if I have too. Just thought this would be easier.

Also most intakes (I dont know any that aren't) are CARB approved.

Ask the sheriff why there are so many beaters on the road that they don't care about at all.
The US is always strict on setting new car's safety and smog standards(Hence no EVO 7, Skyline GTR, etc), yet there are so many beaters on the road. Go figure.

What I dont understand is why they have this law for car exhausts, and try to fine people who's exhausts aren't even that loud (like the trd) and yet, what about bikers? Some of those harleys are 50 times louder than any car exhaust. Do they get sh*t from cops too?

All good questions!
Masayver: I stand corrected. You ALSO Da Man!!!
Ringthree: Good! I'll call RMM and see if they have one. That'll shut the sheriff down in his tracks. hehe. Kinda like the way that sounds for no reason in particular. :wiggle:
Dealer Xing: I woulda asked but he would have burned me for much more if he thought I was even tryin to be cocky ;) Who Me? :naughty:
Blastofo: Yeah, what about Harleys. Some of them are LOUD, like ear-ringin loud. I wonder if they get pulled over for that crap.
You would think gross polluters and unsafe vehicles would be targeted more. I've seen cars belching so much smoke you'd swear you were following James Bond if it weren't for the rust, duct tape, and missing lug nuts.
Oh well
Thanks all for the replies!

As far as I know, the Injen Race Division intake, aka CAI is not CARB certified. I think I remember reading that, at least for the one I have (not the latest 'gen'). That is why I took it off for inspection. Even though I am not in Cali (thank god) I didn't want to bother hearing any ****.
Anyway, a little rant, there's "breaking the law" and then there is BREAKING the LAW. Who cares about little stupid **** like the proper bulbs and crap. Speeding, ok, driving recklessly, ok, driving a honda with a ricey R badge or any other stickers, ok, but bulbs that still do what they are supposed to do but in a different color, while maybe ugly, still shouldn't be a problem. Why don't SUVs get pulled over all the time for continuous disregard for the safety of others on the road?

A beater is a POS car...usually old, no hp, rusted over, and gets driven the hell out of....
They're fun as hell...for a couple hundred, you can pick yourself up one.
