here is my progress so far on a 240sx KA24 intake manifold. The first pics show the manifold after i spent 8+ hrs sanding off teh casting. the others one are another 5+ hrs of hand sanding the rough suface left by the first sanding. i still have a really long way to go and it is a ***** getting out all the hundreds of imperfections and scraches. hopfully when im done i will have somthing to be proud of. what do u all think so far.

edit: imagestation sucks balls

is it wrong for me to think you were polishing the INSIDE, and not going for bling factor and polishing the outside?

i dont have a 240, haha im 14, i am jsut doing wat i can to make a little bit of money so i can get one. but this project is costing me way mroe then i will make off it. if i can even sell it. i am going to polish other thinks like pipes or valve covers ect... once i get the process down.

im not polishing the inside of the plenums because i dont have the proper tools to get in the middle, but i am going to smoothe the casting on the inside where the manifold meets the head and where it meets the surge tank.
my origional plan was to polish a GTS intake manifold but after seeing the price of 500+ for one that would have drained almost half of my savings :)

damn LOL your 14... so you get home form your day as a 7th or 8th grader and start polishing...hmm...cool

have you tried using a dremel?

9th grader:D, but anyways yea pretty much, but i usually dont have enough time to work on it so its usually on the weekends, and yes i used a dremel to sand of the casting first and now i have hand sanded all the really rough scraches left from the dremel. but still have to work out the many inperfections
