The directions for my TRD Hood Spoiler say to drill a 3mm hole into my hood, then bore the holes out to 9mm. I can't find any place around here that carries metric drill bits. I don't think it would make much of a difference if I used a standard drill bit that was close to 3mm to drill the first holes, its the 9mm hole I'm worried about. Do you think I should find a place online that sells a 9mm drill bit, or do you guys think it would be ok to find the closest matching standard size drill bit to make the 9mm hole?

Also it says to use some "Anti-Rust" on the holes after they are drilled, where can I pick some of this stuff up at and what are some of the brand names?

Any help would be appreciated!

That's cool. I sent you an email, if you haven't joined DCM7GEN, make sure you sign up for the next meet in the DC Metro forums! Anyone else have any ideas regarding the hood spoiler install?

Is it really that hard? They are the REAL TRD ones. It comes with a template to put down on your hood so you know where to drill the holes at and what not. It pretty much comes down to drilling a few holes in your hood. I don't want to get ass raped by some shop or the dealer to get them installed...

ahh, mine are TRD replicas from canada...no template. If you make a mistake in drilling, you'll be really sorry :(

This is EZ if you have the TRD Template...

Cover engine W/ blanket so no metal shavings get on it.

Mark holes W/ template

Drill piolet holes W/ Smallest bit

Drill the bigger holes

Install the spoilers

Bolt down but not too much.... I broke a bolt because it didn't feel tight.
