it was another night at work yesterday and i got off at 10.30pm. right after i got off, i went to warm up my car which was in the driveway. the driveway to this house is BIG. about 20 cars can fit in it with ease. after i started it, i went back into the house (i work in a group home for autistic children) to get my jacket and to talk to a coworker. she asked me if i could start her matrix for her. as i came outside to start her car (which was right next to mine), i saw a guy come towards my car.
this guy did not see me cuz i was walking towards the matrix. this is how the coversation went
Me: yo what up man??
him: ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (which a shock).....who lives here??
Me: this is a group home
him: Oh
at this point he left. at first it didnt' strike me but after thinkin about it, i am pretty sure he was going to steal my car. he was walkin towards it when he saw me. then he was shocked some1 was in this driveway
this dude was a decent size too. lil over 6' and about 200lbs ish

He probally saw you start it and walk into the house. He was probally one of those joyriders that races your car everywhere and leaves it smashed next to a pole/guard rail. :( That was damn good timing on your part bro. I do the same thing in my driveway in my house, but it's a small 2 car driveway. I always get a tiny bit nervous when I do that. Even though my neighborhood is soooo quiet.

Holy crap, close one. Yea obviously he was gonna take it if he just asked a dumb ass question like that and turned around. Im glad he didnt get it obviously but at the same time he must be a complete moron, to go and try and take somebodys car and not notice somebody walk out the front door. Idiot! That is why he is degrated to the point to where he has to steal cars.

even if u look, there is no way u can see anything in that driveway. it's completely dark and it's a long driway. you can fit about 6-7 back to back (one behind the other) cars there. plus my car was parked right next to the exit. so it was easier access

I lost a car right out in front of my house at school... doors locked and alarm armed. The car had about $5000 in aftermarket invested in it so obviously it was never recovered.
So, you think I'd at least have an alarm on my Celica, right? Nah... ;)

car starters can be installed on a automatic tranny ;)...... you can get them to do it on a manual celi BUT it cost 2-3x as much and it's illegal cuz you can hurt some1 or hit another car

dayum guys...you ever hear of a JACKET??? pre-starting a car is a waste, suck up the cold for a few min...
i dont care if its 20 fawkin below....i NEVER "warm-up" my vehicles

isn't warming up the car better for the vehicle's life? I always warm it up until it moves one bar. I never drive it cold unless I have no other choice.

warming up car is not "useless". it's not really needed but not "useless". if you have forgotten, driving a celi when it's not warmed up is hassle. i hate driving it like that. it jurks alot and it revs funny

This is what remote start is for =p
I have it on my manual, it's no big thing, just keep it in neutral. Door stays locked and alarm stays armed while the car is running.

yes but most places charge about $400+ to install it :AF:
not worth it IMO

Yes, one day :D I'm probally going to take out my PIAA's when i install the JDM headlamps and sell them. I don't use them anymore since one of the bulbs blew out. I would replace the bulb, but I'll just sell them and generate cash for the TRD's. yes, I'm crazy, I know, I've heard it all before. :)
TRD StreetRacing
03-07-2004, 05:13 PM
why don't u replace the bulb and then sell it = more $$
evil eye
03-08-2004, 08:31 AM
replace the bulb? The PIAA foglamp housings never came with bulbs, you can use the stock H3 bulbs with them, and you still get a hella yellow light output. :)

actually, it's about $180 at best buy to buy (employee discount) then you find someone that works at best buy as a stereo/alarm installer that is willing to do it for you on the side for like $120... I happen to know someone =)
but I think it's worth it IMO especially in cases like yours

i already have an alarm, so i don't think i'll be adding on the remort starter
