does anyone know how much a strut bar would effect the cooling effect of the hood scoop?
i was thinking about getting that apr strut bar on the gb, but i was worried about damaging effects from blocking the hoodscoop.... paranoid. it comes with age i believe..

I copied this from a thread i read awhile ago....

I talked to some TRD represatives about the issue of what exactly is the hoodscoop used for and if it's bad to block it. I was told it's mostly for drag/downforce issues and some engine airflow characteristics. Helping with higher speed stability of the FWD. And air circulation around the motor for cooler under hood temps. They said blocking off the scoop or hindering the airflow lessens the airflow through the engine bay and decreases areodynamics. The effects probably only help marginally and aren't critical. But why screw it up if you can help it. We want to enhance the car not decrease it performance. [/B]

u should buy the hypermotive front strutbar which has holes in it so air flows through it

A strut bar won't block it that much. The airflow should be near the same as without, with most of it being pulled out through the bottom of the car instead of rammed in through the scoop.
