I've been so busy with wedding stuff, I haven't had a chance to finish fixing my Type R. I kind of miss it. I took off of work early one day last week to get it done, but the weather turned bad by the time I got home, and I found out the battery was dead since it hasn't been started in a month. The good news is that tomorrow I should have time to get it all done. The bad news is that it's almost 4am, and I'm still at work. I'm hoping after a nap, I'll have the energy to get the work done. I want to have my car up and running again.
I only need to check the exhaust for leaks, replace the front air damn, and put some touch up paint on a spot on the front fender. Oh yeah, and charge the battery too. It shouldn't take that long.

I can see how that sucks. I didn't say I had it worse than anyone. I just want to get it over with. I'm currently working on finding a new home for the Type R. I'd like to be able to drive it there when I get the place.

I had a '78 Celica that sat for 5 months in 1997 with a 4 year old Sams Club battery (that had been drained 3 or 4 times previous) that started right up when I finally fixed it.
Maybe it's time to try and track down the wiring (short) or battery (doesn't hold a charge) problem that is keeping your "R" from starting.

The only two items which have been added to the elctrical system are the MD player in the dash and the Lojack that was installed by the dealer. The Lojack has a backup battery it constantly charges. The MD deck as a straightforward installation with no problems. I'm guessing the alarm might be killing it. Also, the Type R has a small battery in it. It's about half the size of my MR2 one. To add on to that, the underdrive pulley is probably not helping either. The car is only driven on short trips in the neighborhood for the most part right now.
I did get everything worked out this afternoon. Everything checked out just fine. My brother is going to get the tires rotated and balanced tomorrow. That's never been done since I've got the car. So after 15 months, the front tires are about half worn. I'm so glad to have it back up and running.

Glad to hear that your car is back up and running; I hate being without mine for even a day or two, you must be getting the shakes by now. I wouldn't worry too much about the dead battery; all cars seems to have a slight draw even when they are sitting. The only way to really make sure is to put in a battery cut off switch, but this is only productive when your car sits long periods more often. Anyways, enjoy having your car back.

Now, I just need some time to get to drive the damn thing. I would have driven it to work today, but the forecast is calling for rain. I did find out it got a door ding while at the Lexus body shop. I'm going to call a dent removal specialist I know and get him to pop it out for me. No paint damage, just a very tiny dent. You can barely even see it, but I'll get it taken out anyway.
I did take the car to the bank late last week and got some stares from two different RSX owners and some high school kids in a Cougar. I hate when they do that.

Yes, I have a yellow ITR. I looked at both the Type R and the Celica in Jan. 2000 at the auto show in Houston. That's how I found out the R was back in the states. Then my best friend bought a 2000 6-speed GTS. I looked at it, but I didn't fit in the car very well. I also always wanted an R. So I ordered my R in early April. Picked it up mid-June. I much prefer driving it to the GTS.
