first off IMO you have no need for a crazy stereo system man...i wouldnt even waste the money if i was you on that crap, cause when you start talkin about fiberglass enclosues and crap i hope your planning on a couple grand on stereo equiptment to back the way it looks. so IMO your stoopid to spend big money on a stereo for your car.
dont put it in stocks.
now a mountain bike?? how much do you actually use it?? SERIOUSLY? then i could answer that better.
now you seem to have a problem with the mentality that if you have a few extra bucks you IMMEDIATELY look for something to spend it on. come on greg....why not try to SAVE some money for college or something???

im gonna start savin cash for college senior year.....plus there are always loans, lol. but i also have a good amount of cash for college from my barmitzvah.
now about me spending.......i always like to have a project im savin up for. i work at gaining the cash better by knowin what im tryin to get.
about the mountain bike...... i would use it to exercise and to go up to mountains to bike down with. and i may need it for freshmen year at college if my parents dont lemme bring my car to college for my first year.
i really wanna make my car into a show/appearance car since it is automatic............ i would like to get 2 12'' pold audio subs that have the cool frames and of course a nice amp all in fiberglass in my trunk......then u know add lights and crap later on, lol.

think the apr bar is worth it or should i just buy later on when i have cash?

well first off we've all already told ya how much those polk audio subs SUCK...so thats your first mistake. if you REALLY wanna build a good stereo take our advice, yo wont regret it in the longrun. and be prepared to spend well over $2-$4k MINIMUM. and thats being cheap. if your gonna do it, do it right the first time and you wont regret it
the bike, you most likely wont need it in college...TRUST me. i had brought mine and used it ALOT as i went to school in the sticks of maine, so there was plenty of place to actually ride. and i, as mattay says, AM an outdoorsman(or in his words tree-hugging hippie  ) so IMO dont waste your money on a new bike, as long as you have one that works thats the most ya need for college im sure

forget the bar for now...theyre all cheap enough that you can wait till you have enough extra cash to really need it. IMO just wait off for a while on that one

i currently have a specialized hard rock with rock shock jett c's on it with shimano gears and crap. i am interested in getting a full suspension either specialized or canondale mountain bike. I really wanna start up biking alot again. Used to all the time. SO ill trade in my GT bmx and my specialized hard rock mountain bike in and use the cash and get a nice mountain bike.... thing is.......i dont think ill be able to take the celica to transport the bike to and from mountains, lol.
Just dont know.....but i definately want to if i get this bike afterwards start saving for the whole stereo idea....my mom likes that idea as well........rather have me do that than performance parts.
I dont know much about subs or anything but i want em lookin nice and i know the polk audio momo subs look nice........not a big fan of audiobahn....dont like that chromed out look. Gimme some suggestions on audio stuff or any ideas of what i should do with the cash?

well first off, there really is NO need for a full-suspension bike unless you are downhill racing greg. ive biked ALOT of terrain throughout new england, and i can guarantee you all you need is a front suspension bike. full suspension is ONLY good for the downhills, and SUCKS for the up hills and single tracks. so IMO you already got a decent bike thats all you need for now.
silverCELICAgt-s
03-08-2004, 06:39 PM
i know front suspension is nice but i can get deals from this guy so might as well take advantage of it.

Theres no need for performance stuff like a bar if you will be tugging around all the added on weight of a custom fiberglass enclosure. Why make it handle better when you wont even be able to reach the speeds to feel body roll! :D
You invest in stocks? Jeebus you're only 16, you're still young, go save yourself. Quickly, get an adult to buy you some beer and get destroyed before you wake up tomorrow as a 30 year old man with his hand down his pants and say "damn, where did my life go." :( Stocks....sheesh. ::shudders::

exactly. if you want to be really smart, put it into an account you will NEVER touch til you are maybe 24. do that and save for a house!!!! i wish i had an account i could do that with. instead, im relying on stocks for when i get a house.

That's what he is doing now Matt, stocks.
rddcelica
03-08-2004, 06:55 PM
and just FYI greg....cause you most likely wont be smart and listen to our advice. as far a stereo equiptment is concerend look at stuff from eclipse, alpine, nakamichi, clarion, MB quart, etc. And i dont mean their cheap sh*t, cause all companies make cheap stuff....look at te good stuff they make...you'll be amazed at how great of quality and sound some of the products they make produce

but stocks are always a hit or miss. you shouldnt really depend on them. unfortunately i do. :( but if you have $20K in cash saved up for when you buy a house, that will definitely help when using the stocks (if they go up that is) for a down payment or buying it straight up. just my $0.02

ge stock is good.......buy it now and cash out when ur retiring.....it will never go outta business.....mine just keep reinvesting in themselves.

and as for a down payment on a house....im involved in a lawsuit that i cannot talk about which will be going on for a couple years that should cover that.
ill be back on later cause right now im gonna go celebrate my belated b-day with my family and then start on some homework.

This is the sad thing about living in NY. In queens 20k won't buy you a dog house. seriously, this dilapidated property by my job just wrnt for $900,000. we're talking it needs to be condemned. The property sucks, and its not that big. most houses dont even have a front yard or backyard, but this one does, so maybe thats why its so much money.
Seriously, you know whats a good plan? Someone whos good with laws told me this. Younguns, like 18 yr olds, apply for as many CC's as you can. Max them all out, buy anything you ever wanted, declare bankruptcy, and in 7 years the bankruptcy disappears and your credit is reintstated. By that time you are 25 and ready to start saving for a house. thats what i shouldve done.

i can build a computer just as well as he could, and lemme tell you, i dont care what you think "wholesale prices" are, but to be completely honest with you, nowadays you can get a pre-built computer for CHEAPER than it would cost you to build it, even wit the same parts. an dno im not talkin bot dell or gateway etc. im talkin bout companis that can REALLY build a good system.
hell the last 3 computers i built i even made a custom cases that had plexiglass designs. they also had LED's, but i hated putting those in...i think they look :gay:
