Nice pics Rob! Your driveway has one hell of a speed breaker on it LOL, that sucks! Only thing I could recommend is that you extend the driveway out into the road some changing the angle of that slope to something a little less dramatic, if that makes sense. What I am tryingto say is lengthen the drive a little so that the slope of the drive is not so sharp like extend it out and gradually slope it up onto the drive. However, this probably would not look aesthetically pleasing and your neighbors may or may not have a problem with it but hey its a suggestion. You could even get it done in asphalt. For example get a guy that can do asphalt, have him come look at it, give you a quote and then you tell him you want him to slope it away from your drive a little and have asphalt meet your drive but extend into the roadway a little. Its kind of hard to describe what I am talking about it but hopefully you will understand what I am trying to say. That is the only thing I can suggest.
Oh and when you baked your headlights in the oven to seal them back up did you bake them then clamp them together once you removed them or did you somehow clamp them together while they were in the oven baking?

nice pics. my driveway isnt as steep as that, but its also pretty bad. i hope you dont drive into the driveway straight on like that. i think you wouldnt have a problem with a drop if u took it at an angle and drove really really slowly.

Angles work wonders.. Have you considered buying headlights and selling them like that? Id be seriously interested in purchasing a set off of you. Id even consider sending you my headlights to take apart and do up for a fee if you'd be interested. PM me if you are.

They should have came factory like that. The day pics are even better, good job!
Yea, and what everyone else says, if you take it at an angle slowly you should be able to pull off a moderate drop. i.e. TRD springs.
I've taken inclines like yours with my TRD springs, haven't scraped once yet. Just have patience and drive slow. :)

I know what you mean, like a ramp. I've been thinking about that. A buddy at work did that with some ready-mix cement. Was good for the summer, and the first snowplow through removed it. But if you do it every year, it's only about $20.00 for a bag of ready-mix.

When I was finished, I just placed the 2 halves together cold and got them as close as I could by pressing. Then I put it back into the oven at 300F for 8 minutes, enough to warm them up. I took them out and pressed them together. Then I put the screws in while it was still warm and the screws just totally pulled it all together.

This paint.....I'm in canada so it might look a bit different in the states. The official color was "graphite"

Nah, I always take it at an angle, and slow. Yeah the sidewalks are really gay. These days, they put in the sidewalks first, and make them like that, so it doesn't matter where the driveway is, there is a "driveway" everywhere. My house is like 6 years old, so it's in a new area.

I've been asked this by about 4 people now but man I have to say it's WAY easeir than it sounds. As long as you have 2 people when you pull them apart, its simple. After I pulled them apart, both halves were perfectly smooth....

Not all bent, stretched and deformed like this..
http://www.everythingcelica.com/gal3/albums/inst/paintedlights08.sized.jpg
I think it didn't do that because I left them in the full 15 minutes, not 10 - 15 minutes. And with the extra help, starting at the top it was one smooth pull. Only did it once. Didn't have to put it back in the oven or anything.

Yeah they turned out sooooo good. Going to look great with my CF hoodscoop, and the gunmetal rims I want to buy.

if you follow my instal guide you dont have to pry at it and leave the side all messed up. you just put the screwdriver in the corner and pull and push at the same time on the hook that goes into the fender. it comes right off that way and looks oem still.

Yeah I remember reading that. It must have been your install guide. I went from the top corner, pried it open enough to get a butter knife in. Then just pulled it open like a grilled cheese sandwich. LOL

I've done about 10 sets so far, and only had a fogging problem with one. One thing though, you shouldn't leave the oven on while the headlights are on. You only need to preheat it, then turn it off and put the lights in for 15 min. Originally posted by robare99

I've got about the same color lights, and it looks incredible with my gunmetal/polished lip rims (amazingly enough the same color as the paint I used :o ). Can't wait to get my CF hood installed as well. :)
