View Full Version : How do you tell an ITR from the rest?

Just saw an Intergra with the Type-R stick and realized that I currently have no knowledge that would tell me if it was rice or not. Can anyone help me out so I can differentiate between the posers and the real deals? Yakko?

Aside from the Wing, one of the big ones in the 5lugs on the R vs. 4lugs on the ricers (for the wheels). There is a possibility of switching that, but most ricer doesn't bother. If there is a moonroof, then it's not real either.

anything other than black, yellow or white is not an R, and if it is an automatic its definitely no R, not even a GSR.

the side of the car - if there are side moldings, its not a TYpe R. the Type R does not have the side moldings, whereas the others do. also 4lug/5lug, wing, rims, interior, tach..

ok, well this one was black, and it was on the freeway so I couldn't see how many lugs it had. I'll be sure and look for those side moldings though, those should be easy enought to spot. I think some of the posers would probably have some kind of knock-off wing, but if I see none then I'll know.

What the others said (5 lugs, side moulding, wing, etc), also add into that a sunroof.

I don't think any of the Type R's come with one, it compromises the chassis stiffness.

they have a stock front spoiler too

Front spoiler? As in a hood spoiler or a front roof spoiler?

This and the sunroof are probably the two easiest to do and the hardest to fake. Even if you take the molding off of a GSR, it still has the holes where the molding would attach. Filling in a sunroof is hard too. :D
