after an agonizing couple of days of having to make a choice if i should buy rims (18's) OR falkan anenis & trd exhaust, i have come to the conclusion that i going to get new wheels. Now that the hard part is done, it's time to pic a set a rims.
my budget is about $1200 +/- $100 (which is not too much). can you guys help me find a good wheel?? if you would please take acouple of minutes to post the wheel of ur choice, please do so. I would like the rim to have a decent lip to it. so any suggestions you guys have i would appreciate it
thanx for any pic u provide :D
BTW....if you would kindly list the rim/wheel sites you guys know it would be an added bonus :D

18s!?!? Your car is not going to move...hehehe
Don't have any recommendations on wheels but as for color, I'd say go for gold. White and gold would look nice. So since you're not getting tires, does that mean you won't be autoxing?

LOL thats what I thought when I saw him on Tuesday. I even said, "It's real!!!" :D
Mike: I think Bronze or gold would look hot, but I'm not sure if you're into that. As for choices I dunno, I'm very partial to Volks, and RH's. I have ADR's on now and I reccommend them because they are very durable and strong. I've had mine on for almost 2 years now, no bends on 35 sidewalls.
I got mine from whalentire.com. Good people, good customer service, quick shipping. :)
Oh and my rims: ADR Kasai 18x8 with 215/35/R18 Yokohama Parada Spec II's. A little less than $1500 shipped.
Oh and I have always been a fan of RH Z5000's even though they are very played. a.k.a. konig verdicts.

i'm DEFINITLY autoXing this summer. the only thing that won't make me autoX will be the condition on my car. other than that, i'm good to go.
the only reason i elected to put off the tires now is due to the fact that i won't be putting them to good use now. i'll just end up wearing it down. so i'm getting them come somewhere in may. i'm going to end up making my car look "purrrty" from sept-april and hitting the colisium come summer time. then i will taking off the 18's and the kit.

i always look out for other celi's. that's how i spotted joe the other day BUT when i'm turning into a street or major intersection, i pay more attention to the traffic than looking out for other cars. maybe that's why i missed you :sadpace:

option 2 can be found on ctkrider's car, and he has a white celi too. beautiful trial kit and Blitz supercharger, maybe you've seen it. he has pics in "readers rides" right now.
option 3 is a beautiful rim. Either color you cant go wrong on a white celi.

Word, I try to stay off Cal Ave during those times. Its backed up worse than my sink.
No doubt, I figured you were in a rush since you were taking the short cut, lol. It's all good. I wanted to ask you, did you finish putting the TEIN's in the rear yet? I love how dropped your car is. I have to get mine like that, the TRD springs just aint cutting it.
oh, and did you ever find out anything new about the TRD fogs?

nope i couldn't get to finish the back. for the past week or so, it's been raining during the week, so i couldn't. the week is no good for me cuz i work about 35-40hrs over the weekend
but looking at up coming weather, it looks like wednesday is going to be good. i might end up instaliing it then
BTW...the drop on my car is only 1/2way. i can go about another inch b4 i really start to feel the bumps/potholes on the road. then i can drop it alother inch for autoX

have you ever had nice wheels before? if not i would recommend something not too expensive so that you can get used to them. I curbed the crap out of my first set of wheels.
check out http://adrwheels.com/ if there is anything you like me and manny got our wheels from this ADR outlet in nassau. They are nice and affordable.
Of course if you have the money i give option 3 my vote.

Motegi's are relativly inexpensive if you want to get a good set of wheels to mess up before you get really expensive rims! I agree with twisted, I made sure for like 2 months before I got my rims to be really careful because I was living in Philly and parallel parking on a constant basis.
But I like option 3 as well !:)

Wow, really? This is my first nice car, and my first set of nice rims. Low profile 18's and all I've done is curbed one rim, parallel parking. Now I don't park so close anymore. No bends, again I recommend ADR, they've taken quite a few hard ass hits. Many a time I was convinced that I bent/damaged a rim, but not.
Damn mike you can go even lower? Thats crazy, I like the way it is right now, and you dont even have a kit on yet. So sweet. Yeah this weather blows, although today was fairly nice, but cold at night.

i want to go check this place out too
BTW....i dont' think i'll be getting gold rims. many has gold rims w/ a polished lip and i don't want to copy him. i know i'll be kinda unhappy if some1 had a same set up as me
so i think i'll look into a bronze rim

i would not recomend going to +2. not around here, and not if u claim a limilited budget b4 either having a beater car or 2-3 other sets of wheels/tyres.
as stated earlier in the thread, u don't have the torque to move these monsters. And they will be monsters because Mag alloy 18s are way beyond ur budget. I still can't fathom running an ultra low profile tyre on these roads. i've driven elsewhere, and the roads here in the NY metro/suburbs are pathetic. not substandard, PATHETIC. it would only be a matter of time till either bend a rim or pop a tyre.
If u had another ride, so the Celi was a limited use/show car, then by all means, get them. the same applies if u had a set of 15 or 16" winter wheel, and another set u wanted for general or track use.
just trying to save u money and heart ache down the line.
i'm not hating on any 18"s, u haven't shown me any models yet, but u have better options on putting those dollars to use. YMMV

Hey I run 18's with low pro tires on my daily driver just fine. And it can move, of course not as quick as 16's, but you guys make it seem like your 6-speed becomes an auto or something. It's all about how you drive.
