My Spectra Blue Celica has horible water spots all over the paint. Whoever had the car before me really screwed it up. I work for a car detailing company and we have tried everything we can tgo get these spots out, but all they did was fade a lil, but they are still there. We have tried an acid bath, a neutrilizer bath, and your typical wash, wax, polish, and compound. Does anybody know of anything else i could try, besides a paint job?

The only thing I can think of is a claybar. If a detailing company can't get it out.............things don't look good.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my old Mazda, even the windows were spotted, and there was not anything that could be done.

It it is just "water spots" (calcium deposits) and not damage to the clearcoat itself, then a wash with a mild vinegar solution will remove them. Try the claying too. If the surface is still discoloured afterwards, then the clear coat iself is most probably damaged. Not the end of the world though, as you can clean up the clear coat itself with an orbital buffer and a product such as 3M's Foam Pad Polish. Not really a job for an amateur unless you really know how to use an orbital polisher properly. What you can do is just pick a small "damaged" area and lighty buff it by hand using the 3M (or similar stuff) and see if that gets fixes it up. If it does, just take it to someone who knows what they're doing and have the entire car done.
