I was gonna say the s2000 antenna, but looking at ure sig, I see u already did that.
TRD exhaust was my next mod after the s2000 antenna.

on second thought, since u are going show and no go, i say drop it. please drop the car before the rims, looks 1,000,000 times better than just slapping rims on.

do you mean tein coilovers or tein Springs? If you have enough money, you should get the coilovers.

this is a waste of money for you. just get springs (and shocks later if needed). spending close to a G for suspension that ur not going to use is useless

instead of buying the TRD exhaust you should buy the Borla exhaust (since borla made the trd exhaust). Then you can buy your intake with the $200 that you save.

CAI would be the cheapest and nicest mod. GT-S stock wheels are nice so i would'nt worry about those yet. I would suggest doing the drop first if you have the money.

Please think about what you say before you say it. They're TEIN coilovers. Say it with me, c-o-i-l-o-v-e-r-s, coilovers, coilovers, COILOVERS. :)

.......i dont know........i would love to save the cash to get a 6 speed manual transmission.......and i dont think i would care if it took me a long time to save up to......just have to sell alot of stuff on ebay, lol.... so do u think i should save up for this instead?
-greg
silverCELICAgt-s
03-13-2004, 10:50 AM
yes i keep hemming and hawing about this.......... i wont get a manual.....1. the cash, 2. its not worth hurting my cars resale value, 3. i will just get standard on my second car i own, 4. my parents probably wouldnt let me, 5. ill just go for appearance and some performace parts as stated before.
so lowering it should be the first mod... how much do tein coilovers go for? will i be off of warranty? then what about winter time when i need more clearance from the ground?
-greg
evil eye
03-13-2004, 12:04 PM
Yes there are springs too Mike, but I know he was referring to the thread that you made about the coilovers.
Greg, you should get the springs only, for you it would be a waste for a full coilover system. Just get springs, they're like $170 or so. And they lower you 1.5 inches. Dont worry about winter and clearance issues. I have TRD's, 1.2 or so, and I have never scraped. The only issue is major snow, but you know what? you shouldnt be driving the celica ever in a major storm, just ask Mike. :chuckles: But seriously, just get springs that lower about an inch or so. TRD, Tein, H&R, Eibach Pro's. There might be more, I'm not sure.
And greg, forget the transmission swap. Just go for show bro.
silverCELICAgt-s
03-13-2004, 12:31 PM
thats what im gonna do.......but what is the main difference between coilovers and springs?
rddcelica
03-13-2004, 12:53 PM
yah greg....for you id suggest just doin springs. and with your action package you dont want a HUGE dop. personaly i like the eibach's, so for you id go for the eibach pro-kit, which if i recall correctly will ive ya 1.3-1.5" drop. ths WILL wear out your stock struts faster than the stock springs, but nothing for you to be concerned with for a LONG time. anything bigger than a 1.5" drop then you hafta start thinkin bout buying new struts, AND rear camber links.
heres a pic of my old celi....that was with the eiback sportline kit, whic is a 2" drop, and with it i had TRD struts(which after a few months SUCKED), and the hotckis rear camber links. just to give ya a SLIGHT idea

IMO....i dont' thinking any 17yr old is muture enough to drive a semi-fast car. I know if i had the celi at 17, i would have gotten #1 arrested for speeding OR #2 gotten a **** load of tickets
OR #3 killed my self
from what i read, you definitly should not get a 6sp. maybe acouple years down the line, when you mature up a bit

dude you asked question #1 about 5 times already. atleast 3 times from me fa sure. full coilovers are out of ur league man. it's just not worth it for you. i'm talking to you as man to man(maybe boy)......seriously don't get the coilovers. it's just not what ur looking for. just get spring for sub $200 and you will be more than happy
as for warranty, you are definitly fine. there are 1000's of lowered cares that come into dealerships. the suspension of a car does not cause any bad effect on a car (besides the tire thread wearing out faster)
as for clearance during winter, i can't realy say anything cuz i dont' have a kit

speedeeGTS
03-13-2004, 03:42 PM
mike, you need to copy and paste the link to the address bar for it to work.
greg, if you're gonna have the car that long, you should just get struts and springs. you dont want to ride around with the "ricer bounce" you get from just springs. i hate that so much and i laugh at all the civics and integras i see like that!!!
for the winter time, i took off my kit and put on my stock front (but you cant do that). so you're best bet is to get springs that will only drop it about an 1", 1.5" max. here is a shot of my car on stock rims with my H&R sport springs.
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/i=wMzA5NjQ4NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg
the drop is alot better than stock, but its not too much and i love the ride. i have no complaints about my set up at all
silverCELICAgt-s
03-14-2004, 08:49 AM
so if i were to buy springs...... what else would i have to buy to not have the "ricer" bounce? Would it just be worth it to buy the coilovers? What the hell would i do about the winter time?

dont worry about the winter time. you wont have a problem unless you plan on driving on streets or parking lots that arent plowed. i only got stuck once and that was my own fault. no other problems since

The action package is not like other kits randy. The front bumper is the same height as stock. you can drop it two inches and be safe if you drive safe.

Greg, you can TRD springs for 150-200. shocks for about 300 or so.
I have had just TRD springs for almost 2 years, and my stock shocks are still good. Just don't drive like an ass-hole.
and for the love of God, people got to stop voting for the CAI. He has an auto GTS and is into appearance.

The roads around here r a lil bit bumpy in some areas... as rattgt can tell u......people here r cheap but rich and could care less about the off roads of longmeadow. The thing is for when i goto college, i am most likely going to go to a school in georgia or florida.
Ok, i dont know what it feels like driving on springs or coilovers so hopefully at the meet i can try two celicas out that have each.
