Just stumbled across this video of the Top Secret Supra (powered by the r34 skyline engine (rb26det?) going 194mph on the A1, and subsequently getting arrested :)

I live about 30 mins drive south of this spot and believe me, its the best stretch of road to be doing stuff like that in the UK! Awesome new road :D

I think Top Secret do most of their development on nissans, any maybe its easier cheaper for them to use the nissan engine? Who knows :)

Top Secret actually have an MRS, ALTEZZA, SUPRA, CHASER, and an OLD MR2... they don't specialize in one company...

other cars they have S2000, S15 Silvia, R34, R33 and a new R34...

Im sure that was a skyline engine in that supra, I remeber being suprised when I originally read the article. Even the guy on the web site says the same. I know they've got 800hp out of a 2.0 turbo Nissan 240sx.

I didnt say they solely developed on nissans, I just recall seeing most of the cars at their factory being nissans in the beasts from the east video.. but thanks for the "info" anyway. :)

Blue Luc: They dont/didnthave cameras down that stretch of road, since its brand new. He could have ran from those T5's, but whats the point, he'd have been found, it was so high profile plus its quite hard to hide a gold supra. :)

no, not all R34's are RWD...

the GT-R is AWD, there is a GTS-T RWD turbo and GTS non-turbo RWD...both great for drifting...

i gotta agree that AWD burnout are beautiful... especially in a R34

yup the top secret supra... 900PS. they are king of breaking street topspeed records. they did 318km/h and they added if it was not damp he would have gone even faster. no nissan engine there.

That car is not the Supra with the RB26DETT. Top Secret does have 2 supra's with Skyline motors in it. Top Secret is a tuning company like VeilSide. However they are known for swapping motors into Supras.

oh...and that is not in the UK. Its in Japan. I've seen this video on Options Video last year. They havent brought the car to the UK either. And this car is the one with the 3sgte swap.

Whats not in the UK? That vid? That IS the A1 and I dont think they use Volvo T5's as police cars in Japan do they? Plus listen to the people in the video speaking english etc as the car does a flyby under the bridge.

Ta for the pics Jotan, I can see that engine is also NOT the nissan one, although I wouldnt be suprised if they have more than one supra or have tried different engine combos.

I remember reading a magazine few yrs ago about the Top Secret Supra powered by the skyline engine with my other friend and we were like "why do they do that?", that clears the confusion...they have more than one Supra

TRD used to swap 3SGTE engines into Supras too cuz they were lighter and well capable of making almost as insane horsepower.

just a questioin..that is or isnt a 3SGTE???? and also i thought all skylines were stright six engines like the supra..but once i saw a video from japan and thier touring car supra and it was a 4 cylinder...also i know ther were 4 cylinder skylines but not any recent models...

The Supras in the Jap Touring car champs do use the 3SGTE engine.

Right.. just had a read of the article in the magazine and there is NO mention of the Skyline engine.. and unfortunately only one small picture of the engine bay.. but I still cant tell what it is from the side.. only significant thing i can see is the foot wide gap from the engine to the front of the engine bay. comments...?

the foot long gap looks like a horizontally mounted intercooler with a fan on the top...

they have this also on the HKS "Track Attack" Altezza

The engine bay looks different to that. There looks like theres loads of heat sheilding stuff around it and theres a metal cover over the front of the engine.

intake piping is in the same place tho. Also the engine looks more further forward than that. (me looks at the strut brace bumps)

They use 3SGTE on their MR-S too. Isnt the JUN supra the fastest, the yellow one they brought to race at bonneville(that salt place)?

iDrive, are you reffereing to the article stating that its ther fastest supra? The mag is 3 years old now, so I doubt it is. The Jun Supra got up to 249mph iirc.
