2001 Celica Info

My buddy is looking to purchase a Celica. He put a couple of lines out to dealers to call if they had what he is looking for. Theres not many around here anyways. The dealer called him the other day with a leased vehicle that was returned by a 40 year old guy and heres the rest of the info on the car.
2000- GT
Black, Standard
34K
$13,500
Power everything/AC/Cruise
Previous lease

Is 13,500 a good price for this car? It's not even checked into dealer inventory yet. He wants to see if he can get it for $12K.
Car seems to be in good shape but we havn't test ridden yet.
What other things should I look out for.
Was there any change in body style between 2000-20001 or 2000-present
also: How can I tell if the car has been mis-shifted?

In 03 the celica got a fish like appearance. I think that is too much for a GT. I was quoted that price on a 01 GT A year and a half ago.

eek. i wouldnt even pay that much for a gts

No changes in the GT until 03, where they changed the front bumper, interior, and tail lights. 12K sounds like a more reasonable price, but then again, you pay more if you buy one from a dealer instead of a private seller.

heh, sounds too much if you are buying it and too little if you are selling it... you cant make everyone happy :)

Too much $$ IMHO. You can get an 00GTS in the same condition for those bones.
