:D Thanks Mike. I had a feeling you would make a comment on the NY part of the sig. I remember you're from Jersey but majority rules! :D Besides I felt putting NY/NJ celica's would have been too long. You're an honary new yorker anyway. :)

Very very close, we met Fabian at Jillian's. That black Celi belongs to Rico (TW00Si). Remember, we all met up in Queens (7/11) and left together. ;)

Yes, I got 3 mods in so far, a crappy ass intake modded with bluebombers intake idea with the apexi air filter, the trd 3 point rear strut and a st rear sway bar. So far the suspension mods has gave me nothing but frustration. Went to an autox on Sunday and did 3 spin outs on 3 different runs. It's like a different car almost....I need to get used to it. The rear just comes out faster now.

How is that intake mod, do you feel the difference? Did you have another CAI before that one? I read that thread, sounds like a good idea.
Really? I have a TRD strut bar as well, havent installed it yet. It makes that much of a difference huh? I'm sure the rear sway helps too. I'm sure once you get the hang of the way the car performs now, you'll be running better times. You really think a front strut bar wouldn't help balance it out?

Joe, originally I had the intake from ebay on the car without the bluebomber mod and there was the occassional CEL and constant low end bogging. After the mod, the CEL went away and the bogging was reduced.
As for the strut bar, I think it helps but I think the spinning is due to the thicker sway bar. And I am actually thinking about getting the hotchkis front strut bar because it has camber plates and I would be able to use it since I'm planning on getting ground controls with koni yellows.

Sweet thanks for that info.
That sounds like its gonna be a sweet setup up and a mean drop. You're not going to get a front sway bar? But I have heard the stock one is good enough, so you probally won't need that anyway.
I am currently saving for TEIN's basic coilovers and the hotchkis street sways and camber links. I already have TRD strut, APR stut, Brembo drilled/slotted rotors and TRD pads (all not installed). Then I'll need a helmet if I auto-x and I should with all that I'm gonna have. :D Still contemplating, but I definitely will be attending one with Mike.

You'll still be in STS with the aftermarket exhaust.

 It probally won't happen till mid summer or so. I'm waiting to get all the parts together, and then putting them on all at once. The car will feel a million times different, if what you say is true with a few mods to the suspension.

what are all the levels? and what's STS, a step above stock? I have intake and exhaust, does that put me in STS too? Does a drop matter? If so TRD springs.

if i'm not mistaken, suspension mods bump you up more than performance mods. after all it's all about the driver and the driver ability ;)
BTW....read this joe. it gives u and idea about the levels

Joe, you will still be in STS with the springs and shocks. The only mod that is illegal in STS is the 3pt TRD strut bar. I'm waiting for someone to petition me at the event....heheheh...then again, if I'm not stealing someone's trophy, they won't say anything.
evil eye
03-20-2004, 12:31 AM
wow really? why is it illegal? hell, they'd have to take us both down! yeah if you ever win, theyre gonna take your trophy away for sure, the sore loser in second will be crying. :D

It's in the rule book...they only allow 2 point strut bars. I didn't make up the rules...I don't see how this rule even holds. Consider the fact that a roll cage is ok and adds about, oh let's say, 10000000000000000000 times for stiffness for the car yet a 3 point strut is too much....Although the stiffness of the rollcage is a byproduct of safety reason....I can easly say my 3 point strut bar in the rear is too help keep the groceries from flying to the back seats!??! hence the stiffness is a byproduct....
Some of the SCCA rules are just retarded...but rules are rules...
