wheel or tire noise is driving me crazy..

ok i've had my wheel and tire combo for about a year now.

17" motegi with some 45 series dunlop tires. and it makes this ufo sound.. some of my friends say its the wheels and a hubcentric somthing will fix it.. and some say i need better tires.

so whut do ya'll think?

I believe that would be the tire noise. A bad wheel wouldn't make a UFOish sound. If something was wrong with the wheel, you would feel vibrations as well as the sound (but not like a sound that you are describing) just like when the wheels aren't balanced. From what I know, dunlop tires kinda suck, and also those Motegi wheels are HEAVY! Good luck.

theres a piece of pavement about 500 ft long where i live and everytime i go over it my wheels make a UFO sound kindof like music...

its weird, i guess its the way the wind comes across the road + the pavement + tires =sound...but it never happens anywhere else :)

I've heard this before from my friends who were running some low pro Dunlops. Time to invest in some better tires.

I put Dunlops on my 94 Mustang I had and regretted it because of the fact they were very noisy on both concrete and asphalt surfaces. Now before I buy a tire I do research on them.
