17x7.5 and 215/40-17 fit on gt?

is 17x7.5 too wide? ad is that a good tire size for a gt? thanks!

i had a 17 X 7 245/40/R17 on there and it fit. the only thing was when i turned the wheels really hard to the right or left, it scraped a little on the inside of the wheel well. Now i have 205/35/R17.

you are runnin pretty damn low with a 35 series on a 17. 215/40 is even smaller than stock. And how the hell did you fit a 245/40 on a rim that is 7 inches wide. to answer your question redgt01, I am gonna go with a 17 x 8 with 225/40's. If you go with a 17 x 7.5, get either a 215/40 or 215/45 depending on what you like. I personally would go with a 215/40

Thanks! personally i like the look of a lower profile tire but i thought maybe 7.5 inches wide might be a bit big on my car. :burnout:
