are you syncros going bad? If i dont double clutch it usually grinds really bad from 5th to 4th gear. My car has approx 50K. Is that kind of early for my syncros to go or does it depend on the individual driving style? How much does it cost to fix my syncros? Thanks

im not certain if dbl clutching deteriorates your synchs. i know that when your car is off. and you play around with the shifter withouht pressing the clutch, it can mess up your synchs.

ooo i dont think its the boudle clutching that messed it up. I heard that double clutching is actually good for your tranny cuz it matches the speed of the input and output shafts.

Have any of you had to have your syncros fixed B4?

LOL. Maybe boudle clutching is the problem here. :)

I dunno, I hear complaints from mainland owners about the syncros all the time. This is the first complaint I've heard from a local owner... but it seems that the syncros are problematic with too much hard driving.

If I downshift at freeway speeds, I make sure to rev-match to put less stress on the drivetrain.

hmmm...I did actually buy this car used. Maybe the previous owner messed it up.

I've changed synchs on the alltrac. It was pretty tedious...I wouldnt want to do it again. other than that? they're just retardedly expensive!
