Hey Scott a while back I remeber you posting something about a method to adjust the camber on an ae86, the reason why I am asking is cause april is coming up and our corolla is ready, we did the suspension, put in the lsd, and bought tires, so all we need now is an alignment.
Oh BTW this is for the rear.

Once again your help is appreciated
Dave.

Ummm, have you looked under the rear of the car?

See that big long SOLID axle?

No way to adjust the camber back there.*

*Heat the top of each side of teh axle housing with a torch until it is red hot.

Do this over about a 2"x2" area midway between the diff and the axle flange.

Upon cooling, the metal will shrink (bending the axle housing). The result is up to about 1 degree of negative camber. The more area you heat the more it bends.

Expect accelerated bearing wear, axle wear, etc...

You can make adjustable length lower control arms if the axle is not centered. You should have basically Zero toe.

If the car is lowered you pretty much MUST make an adjustable panhard bar because the axle will beto shifted to the side (after lowering).

Scott

Nascar guys cut off the axle flanges and reweld them back on at the setting they want. then remachine the ends of the axle shafts to an oval shape to allow for the offset without binding It took the inspectors about three years to discover that modification. It's allowed by the rules now so every one is done that way.

Slide into a curb then remount the wheel with the bent side on top :chuckles:
