Auto to 5sp?

How hard would it be to put a 5sp tranny in an auto gt? Not by me but by someone who knows that kind of stuff. If someone totaled their gts could you put a 6sp in there?

6spd wont work with US Celicas, I think. In Europe the GT's have 6spd, 5spd seems more likely though.

It would be more trouble than it's worth. The cheapest and best route is trade it in for a new car.

I cant see any reason why a six speed would not work. The fact that Celica GT's in eroupe come with the six speed is a testament to this. But then again, I dont know anyone with a US spec GT who has actually swapped in a six speed so I cant say for sure, but I would bet money that it would work without any problems.

Most of the actual work would not be hard at all if done by some one who knows what they are doing. It would be pretty time consuming though, hence, it would cost a lot of money to pay some one to do this.
