Our 2002 GTS redlines @7800 rpm, just like every other year GTS. As far as whether to go with a new/used Celi, I'd check out some local dealers around you to see what cars they have available.

It's been agreed that the '02's are a bit slower due to the even narrower powerband. I would get an '01 if I were you. Clay go read the newest SportcompactCar for more info on the '02.
TRDtuner, are you sure about that? The latest SportCompactCar said the '02 hit revlimiter at 7500rpm. And many members of this board have confirmed this too. So the '02 only has 1500rpm of a powerband vs the '00 and '01 which has 2300rpm's of powerband.

The advertised redline has not changed, but the cut-off point has.

Yo peep, I went out to the car, and looked at the tach. It has a 7800 rpm redline. And I know it'll rev that high; been there, done that. As far as a cutoff, are you talking about fuel cutoff, or speed limiter? I can't believe Toyota would cut the powerband by 800 rpm on the same motor between model years without sending a recall out to owners of the previous models to lower their redline. That doesn't make sense. Are you sure they aren't talking about the GT redline being 7500?
