Hi guys, just a quick question or 2.
Will a 42mm offset need a spacer on the GTS?
I am looking to run 17X7 with a 215/45/17. Does that sound good, or will I need some modifying? i.e. spacer, etc.

you will need spacers, 10mm or 1 inch would probably be good

Why would that be though.
I hear people saying that 40mm offsets work fine with the 17X7 rim, why would 2 mm more need a 10mm spacer?

I doubt you would "need" them...I have a 42mm, 16x7 wheel, 205/50 tire on my car with no problem
if you need/want them, you certainly could get by with less than 10mm

i dont think you gonna need spacers. i got 18x7.5 with 42offset with no problems and no spacers

Hey coledesign, how close is your wheel to the front calipers with that 42 offset? Is it like right next to it?
Thanks,
David

When it comes to clearing the calipers, it's as much about the shape of the inside of the wheel as it is the offset...I've seen stock offset wheels that don't clear the calipers.

Hey Coledesign,
can you please take a look at the American Eagle 193 model wheel on ebay.
You have to seach for it in both the title and description.
Pull up one of the pics that shows the wheel at an angle and tell me if the inside of the spoke will clear the front caliper.
