Ok heres the thing. Last night I took apart my guage cluster (not my first time) and was working on it in my room. I was messing with my guage cluster so i could take out my AC reverse indiglo's. And to familarize myself with the thing so i could later change the led's. I finished working with them so i left them in my room.

So this morning i was gonna go pick up my gf, and when i get in the car, i remebered that the whole cluster is in my room. Being the lazy ass i am, i didnt want to go upstairs - get the cluster - and install it back in. And i remembered that i was reading topics saying how you could drive without it and nothing would be off, maybe except that the car doesnt go into lift. I didnt care since i wasnt gonna go race, i just needed to pick up my girl. So i said f-uck it!

Well, when i came back home and was getting ready for work, i decided to finally put the cluster back in. To my surprise as i started my baby up... I see the damn engine check light go on... I'm wondering if it was caused due to me driving withou the cluster?

I have a 2002 AUTOMATIC. If i goto the dealer, will they try to give me **** for something stupid like blaming it on my reverse indiglo guages and crap? I've been driving the car all night, and nothing seems to be wrong with it. but the damn light is still on!

Any and ALL help would be GREATLY appreciated.

i drove for 3 weeks while my gauge cluster was out.
when i finally got it back in it had a check engine light like yours.
just unplug the battery for 10 minutes and put it back on and you will be fine.
i haven't had any problems with it comming back on.

You can reset your ecu in 5 seconds.

1. Turn on your lights.

2. Disconnet Battery

3. Wait 5 seconds.

4. Connect battery and start car. No ECU!

Turning on the lights drain the circuit off electricity faster.

to disconnect your battery you remove the wire running to the negative terminal of the battery. The terminal is marked with a "-" sign on it. jsut unscrew the nut on there are take it off.
