Cop pulled me over today..

Was on my way home from class when I glance in my rear view mirror to see state trooper closin in fast.... (I already have 1 ticket....so i started cursing like a sailor)

When he got out of his car he noticed my tail lights and came up to my window...(I have bats smoked taillight kit)

COP : Are those tail lights covered?
Me: yessir.
COP : You know those are Illegal, cant have anything covering the tail lights..

then he walks up to the front of my car...(I have bats smoked headlight kit) =(

He can easily see the vinyl covering the headlight because there are some creases over the bulge...

Me : Mind if i get out and take a look at it with ya?
Cop: Sure.
Me : I thought these would be ok since they arent obstructing the low beams, you can see the circle has been cut around that area.
Cop: Nope, ya cant have anything over the headlights..

Then he takes another walk around my car, points at my TRD Fuel lid an says thats OK. Looks at my exhaust for a minute (I have Espelir JGT 500, and its pretty big)

Cop: You got the exhaust..
Me : yeap.

Next...he looks at my window tint... ( I have 20% all around)

Cop : Do I wanna know what tint that is?
Me : uhmmmm.....no...
Cop : Roll up your window ant let me take a look..
Me : rolls up window..
Cop : That looks ok.

Finally he asks for my license and registration, takes it to his car, comes back, and tells me he's gonna give me a break, but I need to remove the vinyl on the headlights + tails...

=/ sucks...I just put the headlight kit on and I love the way it looks, so many people have complimented me on those 2 kits....

Looks like I'll need some new tail lights, what would you suggest for Red celi, Im goin for the Red + Black scheme. Doesnt look like theres anything I can do for the headlights.. =/

Go for the TYC black housing tails (they are pretty dark and are legal). They would look awesome on your red car.

me too but i got ticketed today for a 56 in a 30 and break light out. He said he was gonna test my tint but never did.

You can paint the inside of the headlights black instead. If you want red and black for the tails, check out the black TYCs. Otherwise, the regular red TYCs will look good.

The all red TYC's are nice too. :)

I decided to get the black housing TYC's since I am going to "black out" my car.

Since you are going for the red and black look, go with the black tyc lights (like the ones I have). If you put the all red ones it will not look good on a red car (in my opinion).

Marc has a point. You break the law thats what can happen. Usually his 5 or 10 posts are entertaining to read so its ok that he's being a smartass.

BTW - anything that doesn't make your car faster is subject to taste...which means it can be considered rice. Tinting your headlights and taillights would most definitely qualify.

That said, I'm glad Broccoli got away without any troubles. I may laugh at rice but I hate tickets.
