I ran at California Speedway at Fontana yesterday. I need some help on what I could do better next time I go out on the tracks. I don't consider myself the best Celica driver, but my goal yesterday was to hit 14's at least. AND I DID! Sorry I don't have a scanner but here's my timeslip:

R/T: 1.164
60': 2.283
330: 6.374
1/8: 9.699
MPH: 73.17
1000: 12.524
1/4: 14.912
MPH: 94.75

I know I had a bad reaction time, but this was my first time at the tracks. I ran a total of five times and that was my best time. The other runs were crappy. Two of the runs I totally missed second gear and boy was I embarrassed!

Oh, and there were two other celica's there, I believe one was an '02 with an action package and the other was a stock GT. They both asked me what I was running, and they told me that I was pretty fast. Well I need some info on what I need to improve on, and thanks for your help.

Peace.

Oh yeah, my mods are: 3rd gen. Injen CAI, and I unbolted my exhaust. I also had a tire pressure of 25 psi on both front tires.

just practice and more track time. also try different rpm launches. when i hit my 14.5 i launched the car @4krpms and had the tires at 22psi. 14's are attainable with a 3-4k launch and good reaction times and every time you go out on the strip the times will always be different.

from the look of your times, your 2-3 shift could be faster. Your 60' is pretty good and it looks like your 1-2 shift is good also. Your 1/8 mph is lacking though, 73 mph. That might be due to your tire pressure. If you let out too much air, you lose alot of topend speed but improve greatly on your 60'. Try not to let out soo much air in your tires. Are you running stock tires and rims?

Yeah, I was running on stock Yoke's and rims. Thanks for your info Mirconrice, and TRD Liquid.

:)

Anyone else could shed some info on how I could get better?
