Read about it here HERE (http://www.scca.org/news/fastrack/02-04.pdf) (see page 16)

Anyone car to guess if the Koni Sports meet this?

Anyone who has a set in the garage car to measure them.
Installed mine two weeks ago.. Dooooo and it's really hard to measure the front strut once you cut it apart.

Rob, I'll bet your glad to be off the SEB right about now.

VEEEEERRRRY interesting! Any bets on passage? I don't see where it will make a great deal of difference tho, The top people and those with deep pockets will still buy the big buck shocks and simply seal the extra adjustments for the major events. It WILL eliminate the Penske remote reses, reducing the choices, i.e. manufacturer competition.

Yes Mark H. I am very glad I "retired" as of January 1. Even prior to this I have cumulatively spent_days_of my life discussing this sorry sore subject.:puke:

From what I remember when I put mine in last summer, perch height and extended length were spot on, I don't think I measured travel, which I suspect due to the foot valve is probably slightly shorter than OEM since the free length matches.

I knew this was coming, as the proposal/revision was in the works when I left.

Rob.

Let me ask you something then... How come we don't get to see these proposals until they are submited for feedback? Well that's not quite right, thats what feedback is for...

Why don't we get to see a list of things that the SEB/SCAC is currently working on/mulling over.

If nothing else it gives us some idea what the heck the comitees are doing.

Rick:

This proposal is all in response to some member letters at the end of last year, and on-going SEB discussion for at least the last 3 years. It obviously has gotten major "press". Some other ideas are wacky and get the bit bucket as listed in the fine print of Fastrack as "Member Correspondence not Recommended for Action" or something like that.

Read the SEB Minutes, keep up on controversial protests, and you'll have a pretty good idea where things are going. This is a body that typically moves rather glacially. I could probably guess what the major agenda items will be for this year, aside from clarifications that stump Howard. That only happens occasionally though.

Do you think the addition of GH to our class will give the class any stability? Like some moved up??? And others kept from coming in and dominating?

Do I need to lobby the Celica's to HS? Or just get ready to buy the 130hp Corrola and drop in a Celica computer?

And run HS with the corolla?

Just change bodies

A Corolla TypeR

It won't fit, wheelbase is a little shorter and so is the track.

Uummmm, like it or not we are the benchmark car for the time being in the new GS. We were pretty consistently ahead of DS, even without considering weather, in which case we were even faster. Look at Nationals results. DS ran in as warm as it got temperature; we were 2nd heat when it was freezing. The old lame previous GS cars don't worry me. A V6 F-body couldn't ever even beat a MX-6 at Nationals during the pre-Type R days. We have power to weight, track width, enough wheel for a 225, and decent brakes. I'll say the handling we have all adapted to....

There are only a few cars near-term out there that worry me. The Mini, which I suspect my get dropped down from H, the Mini S, which should go to DS but might not, and the SVT Focus. I'm hoping both are just great numbers and feel cars, but not a sum greater than the parts result like a Celica GT is. They all are a lot heavier.

GH in the class is not going to make any difference what-so-ever. The latest Fastrack is from the SEB Convention meeting from last month, where the SVT Focus and Sentra SE-R were 12 monthed back to GS.

I will definitely be running mine this year, probably next year, but something different the year after that (2004?). The big kid will be kart age that year, and I'll have an excuse to buy an enclosed trailer to put that and the Civic into. Unless this car is still in the mix.
