What purpose to wheel locks serve besides preventing someone from stealing your wheels? Or do they even do that?

I heard them mention "wheel locks" on NASCAR yesterday during the race, so I assume they are helping secure the wheel at utlra-high speeds?

I assume NASCAR wheel locks are true locking, locking on to the hub...
our wheel locks are a "nuisance" to a thief.....you can take out MOST wheel locks if you really want to take the wheel off. Myself for example, last spring right before a show I was trying to take my rear wheels out, and found out the lock key was stripped...went to a tire shop nearby and they put a big socket with "teeth" inside that grabbed onto the lock and took it off. They sell these at autopart stores, by my house the Trak Auto orders them for $27.00.

If you want to keep your wheels secure, get 2 or more locks, my friend put 2 sets of locks in every wheel.
