Just wanted to say hello to everyone. This is a nice site and very informative. My girlfriend just bought a 2000 GTS so I'm just trying to get some basic ideas of what can be done to these cars. I think we'll start off by getting her a CAI, exhaust, and some lowering springs.

I drive a Camaro so I don't know much about these cars, but I'm sure if I read current posts and use the search button I will catch up on this big Celica world. Have a good day all.

Thanks Mentos its always fun trying to learn about a completely different car than what you are used to.

phaqgm, my car is a 98 Camaro Z28. It ran nines on the old set which was a 382 stroker motor with a Nosszle direct port kit jetted at 250hp. The car is currently under construction and it will now be powered by a bigger 427stroker motor with same nitrous setup. I'm hoping to hit the high 8's.

TRD 2ZZGE, your right I think it did run that back when it was stock

Thanks for the great welcoming guys. I like this site alot I've been reading this everyday and think I am cathing up fairly quickly.

celikill180-Its an auto with the tiptronic??? She probably won't be racing it but I will throw on some bolt ons for her anyways. I do wish she would have got a manual transmission though. Oh well :chuckles:

welll unfortunatly ur gf has teh slowest celica there is, i suggest anything Tannabe for exhaust.

TRD 2ZZGE

NO WAY...TANABE IS LOUD and it sticks out alot..making it look ugly. Go with TRD or Greddy.

celikill180- I kind of figured her car was slow because of the auto. That is okay though she won't be racing it anyways.

I'm going to start off with the CAI and some exhaust for her though.

Welcome to the site. The mods you suggested would at least be good for making it sound mean and look good. Then do a 6-spd tranny swap

hey man whats up! your camaro probably sounds like a beast! damn i love f bodies and there v8's.

Oh yea back to the celica. If you do plan on getting her a CAI for her celica get either the AEM or TPR cai. Although youll lose bottom end with either intake the aem and tpr intakes help the midrange. There much better for daily driving than the injen because the injen is all about up top performance but its bottom end sucks. Especially for the auto. Its gonna seem more torqueless then it already is. And another thing with the injen is that many people encounter bogging problems from off the line starts. hope that helps ya
