View Full Version : 02 grill with 00-01 front bra???

Has anyone modified their front bra/mask to accomodate the 02 grill. I can get every clip hooked except for the lower lip part because the grill blocks the path, I really don't want to drive around with a part of the mask flapping around, anyone have any suggestions?

same thing i discovered on my drive baack to orlando from miami. i actually drove without the lower part of the mask hooked unto the grill. i didn't hear any flapping nor scratching

I bought it even though they told me it would work with the 02. Trying to get it to work without flapping is going to be a pain in the ass. If I were you, I would do what I did and return it.

Hahah, i could try that but dammit, i hate that, why can't things work out nicely, i bought the bra before the grill, and argh. Oh well, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought the lower grill tonight and discovered the same problem. I came here to see if someone had a fix, but it doesn't look like it.

I'm gonna go back to the garage and try to modify the grill. I'll post some pics if I get it to work.

I just got off the phone with David Draper, and he confirmed that Toyota is not selling the bra for the 2002 models. So they know it doesn't fit.

However, I did notice that if you look at the bottom of the grill where the bra fastens, there are holes cut and other marks right where the hooks for the bra go.

So my guess is that Toyota either plans to make a new bra that will fit, or there is some plans to add a bracket under the grill to accomodate the bra. If you have the lower grill, take a look and you'll see what I mean.

I still think I can modify the grill to work, so I'm gonna try that today. I just hate to start cutting up a brand new $50 grill.

Ok, here's the modified grill. I test fit it on the car with the bra and it works. If anyone needs more details, email or pm me.
