I'm thinking about getting rid of my 2000 Celica GT-S. Replacing it's spot in my driveway would be a 2002 Honda S2000 (silver).. I was wondering what peoples thoughts were.. I would end up trading my celica in for $15,000.. Thanks for your opinion... -gage

At least try to sell it privately for a week or so. Trade in is rape, unless you like that kind of stuff, it wouldn't hurt to try to sell it.
It's a great choice, just don't expect to get any power from simple bolt-ons. You really don't need them on that car anyway, handling is like a dream I hear. My dad is getting one in April, I can't wait to compare. I miss RWD, I can't wait to drive the piss out of it.
Any reason you would pass over an MR2 or Miata?

I think those 2 are just TOO small.. the s2000 has like a old vette style of seat.. true like buckets.. it's nice.. I test drove it tonight.. and i'm pretty sure i'm going to get it.. I wish i could get someone to at least give me $17,000 for the celi.. the s2000 will be my graduation gift.. which is great.. I also miss RWD. . I did have a 94 mustang gt before the celi.. and loved it.. anyways.. keep the opinions comin.. -g

Well, if you are buying a car for straight up looks, and handling. Go with the S2000. You will appreciate it's rarity. You will appreciate its handling even more.
If you want something with power though, look somewhere else. And you should be prepared to keep the car stock.
I might have got one, but i'm 6'1, and even riding shotgun, i felt cramped as hell.

the S2000 is a bad ass car.. only problem I found was the expensive parts from aftermarket that dont yield great results.. still a bad ass car though :)

I drove an s2000 3 weeks ago it is a great car I would love to have one, I can't get over how great the shifts felt and the feeling that you get when you shift at 9000 RPM's, Only problem I have with the s2000 is that it is small and you can't carry all that much with you, I some times wish I hadn't gotten my Celica because of a lack of storage space, but I got used to it, If you don't need the extra space the s2000 will be great

Congratulations, the S2000 is a badass car. My friend just got one after trading in his Acura CL Type-S. The car looks really good, but after driving it I noticed it wasnt as fast as I thought it would be, my friend said the same. I'm not exactly sure but I think it is due to the same problem with the celica, lack of low-end torque only 153lb./ft. Maybe it was just my expectations of a really fast car, still quick, but certainly not what I expected for a 240HP roadster. Anyway, not trying to change your mind, just my first performance opinion.

All the autox guys around here with S200s complain about its understeer.
They all have installed these HUGE Comptech adjustible front swaybars to fix it.
Oh, and don't drop an S2000. Everything I've seen and heard says they don't react well to being lowered; messes up the balance in the rear and ruins the handling.
