Min's quality has been questioned in the past in regards to fitment of certain bodykits but this is not his fault as its a knock off kit.. you take that chance buying knock off parts.. he also makes nice hood scoops which take a while to get sometimes but they make the car look hella mean :)

they get a thumbs down from me. their quality is poor, and they refused to accept returns for a refund. that is poor business and ethics in my opinion. i ordered a hood scoop when he said it would fit perfectly. turns out you had to drill the hood, because they made the mistake of designing the hoodscoop on a customer's carbon fiber hood. rather than fixing the faulty scoop, or offering a refund, they said drill the hood. i thought that was complete bullsht. pardon my french. but to me, that was the same thing as someone selling me a brand new part for a civic and sayin it wasnt their problem, it was my problem to make it fit.

I don't care if they advertise it cheaper. Because I ain't gonna get it anytime soon. You pay for what you get, and with them, you won't even get for what you pay.

The hoodscoop I ordered was perfect, but I also ordered a Imported Blitz front and it was the worst fitting the body shop has ever seen. The body shop called it "a piece of sh*t" but the shop made a miracle and did 6 hours of work and made it look perfect. In other words only order the scoop.....
so when you order a hoodscoop in November, and it's late March, and you still haven't received it, then that is what I call 'bad.'

i just completed a transaction with them for some sideskirts....
the girl there took the order...and i made sure (Twice) that they were in stock.....3 days later they withdraw the funds from my checking account....i wait 2-2.5 weex, still NO sideskirts....
so i call them...i get that same girl and ask the status of my order..she tells me that she hasta talk to the "shipping guy" bout my order and she said that shed call back in 1 hour.....
i wait 2 hours....i call back again..i get that same girl again....she tells me that shell call back in 30minutes with some info...
i step out for a couple and get a message tellin me to call back..i call back..
she gives me a tracking number..but "for some reason" the tracking number isnt in the fedex computer...I Know that the only reason that that would happen was if they had just shipped it within 24 hours...
i wait 2 days then check the fedex site again....what a surprise, its there in their computer......and on record that it was scanned out of mbautosports a day AFTER i had called about the sideskirts whereabouts....It was shipped THREE weex after i had made the order and made for damn sure it was in stock (i actually asked her twice in a row)..
that day i call back to speak to the manager just to see what happened with my order.....i get that girl again and she says that "theyre all out to lunch"...at 2:00PM at that...
If you can take an order..and if you can withdraw my hard-earned $ from my account....Then You Can Ship Out my ****
i wasnt gonna say anything, but i see now that im not the only one dissatisfied with mbautosports' service...
thanx
I didnt see this thread so i posted it in the General topics one.. Oh well here i'll copy it over
ok heres the thing. Last week on monday(03/25) i went to MBauto to get myelf a kaminari kit but with WW side skirts. They said that they had the kam front and back but couldnt give me the sides yet. They said they would have them by friday(03/29) or monday (yesterday.) I didnt have a problem since i got a good deal on the kit, plus monday would be alright to pick up the kit and bring it to my friends dads body shop so he could have it done within the week or something.
So thursday(03/28) rolls by and i give them a call just to make sure everythings gonna be OK. The female receptionist picks up and i ask her if my kit is ready/will be ready. She tells me the same deal. They have the kam front and back, but no WW sides yet. She then put me on hold and talked to her manager (Min.) She reassures me that the kit will be ready 100% by monday.
So yesterday (Monday) i call them up at 11 AM. Min tells me that they dont have them yet and to call back at 2 PM. So i call back at 2, and the female receptionist says that they are out trying to get the sides for me and to call back at 4. I call back at 4:30 and they said they still dont have them... She told me that they fould a manufacturer that has them, but they were already closed - so i would have to wait till tuesday (today) to get them. She also told me that they were going to get the delivery guy to go pick it up in the morning.
This kind of upset me cause they assured me that i would have it for SURE by monday. I dont know if they were pulling my chain or not, but do manufacturer's really close earlier than 5 PM?
Anyway so today is Tuesday. I give MBauto a call at 1 PM. The female receptionist tells me that she doesnt know the status of the side skirts, and that nobody else that is there has a clue. She says that the people who WOULD know anything reguarding my sides would be in the office withing 15 minutes. I tell her i'll call back in 30 (just to be safe.) I end up calling back in 45 minutes.
I ask the male receptionist weither or not my WW sides came in yet. He tells me that they currently have NO WW ANYTHING. Of course i'm confused and asked if MY WW sides would come in today. He said that they were getting a shipment at the END OF THE DAY (6pm) and he wasnt sure if any WW parts will be coming in with the shipment.
I thought to myself "this is fawking GHEY!" - first they tell me monday for sure and dont come through - then they said tuesday morning/afternoon when in actuality they get their shipment at the end of the day (6 pm)
So i told him this is getting pretty ridiculous. I told him that i would rather go pickup my side skirts myself from the manufacturer! He says that they cant do that cause the manufacturer wont give parts to anyone except them. So i asked if maybe this could be arrange, because i was getting restless.
He told me he doesnt know if thats possible and would have to talk it over with his manager... but heres the funny part - MIN WASNT EVEN GONNA COME INTO THE OFFICE TODAY! Not until AFTER they close! So he told me that he couldnt tell me anything until MIN get's back....
Now im just sitting here with my thumb in my ass waiting for things to clear! I would go get it or wait till 6, but I CANT. I have other plans and its not like i can just wait around for THEM. This really pisses me off. This week is spring break for me (im in hs) and i was planning to get everything done by the time i get back to school... This seems to be messing up my schedule... Dammit dammit DAAAMMMIT!!
@$(@(^$&@$T$@$%)@$^)@&$@$)^$@&^!)
I think its BULLSH!T that they cant get their **** straight or ATLEAST give me an HONEST answer about when my ****s coming in - when i already dished out ALL of the money (CASH) and payed them beforehand.

Lets see.....i guess i shall add to all of this bull$hit service that MB and/or this Min guy has been offering to us customers....well i ordered my Blitz kit from them and (you guys know) it only took well over a month for this piece of $hit kit to get shipped.....
i called and called.....i got the lady a few times and she speaks so soft that i can barley hear her.....and by speaking with her, i could tell that she didn't know anyting about anything......dumb as hell.......( and no, i shouldn't go easy on her---> this is my time to bitc#)......
the guy there wasnt too friendly either.....he knew something but he just didnt want to tell me.....(so they make these kits by themselves?)......if so, the guy could've told me that.....instead he made it sound like it was being shipped to them from a large manufacturer....if i knew that they made it themselves i would cancelled my order.....and i bet he knew that too....( but if they dont make it themselves, than i apologize to the guy only)......which i doubt i'll have to do.....
man i was expecting a fairly good fit.....not perfect just managable.....i got this kit and i was all excited....but then i took it out of the box and the rear end a few knicks in it(air bubbles that peeled off and had gouges in them)....i was so pissed...i figured oh well, i'll just get it fixed.....everthing else looked fine to the eye......
i tried to fit the kit and the front was soooooooo off....the drivers side fit manageably....the pass side was so off....nothing matched up...corners came up short......the fog light holes were completely off.....useless now....anyways i managed to fit it with precise drilling and clamps.....but the back and the sides are another story that i wont get in to....lets just say the body shop that i went to said that it would cost over 1000$ to paint it, mold it, revamp it, fit it, etc.......
so now i have a completely useless kit sitting in my garage.....piece of **** company.......

wow thats all a bunch of BS, thats not how you do business at all especially if you wanna keep customers coming back. Sounds like if they keep up what they are doing they are going to lose some serious business.. there are a lot of people who read these forums and if no one here likes them then its going to pay a toll on them in the end.

I got my Imported Blitz front in a week like he said and since the hoodscoop was on backorder it took only three more days after I got the front.....Then the real complaint...the Imported Blitz front fit like sh*t.......due to the fit I probably wont buy any other product...but as for service it was great.

i dont think MB will go down the tubes...they have pretty low prices (altho once you get your product you know why theyre so cheap). everyone out there is lookin for the beast deal. basically you get what you pay for most of the time. not many people do research before they buy. look at VIS, all their stuff is POS but they are rollin.
i've been waiting sine nov for my hood scoop, the bbb will be notified.
i ordered my kaminari front and blitz style side skirt, from then the kam was fine... but the blitz style side skirt is a pieces of Sh!t according to bodyshop.. i had to find the bodyshop that willing to do it.. and after all i payed 550 for the installation of a side skirt.. how lame.........
I just posted this in relation to the hoodscoop GP:
-------------------------------------------------------------
hey, I just got off the phone with Min. He said that they're going to be giving the rest of us a call tomorrow. The crux of the situation is this:
-MB will be refunding us the full amount of the purchase. Min said this should hopefully post to your credit card/whatever tomorrow.
-in addition, (as a gesture) Min will keep the orders intact, and whenever they arrive, he will ship them to us for free. Min's guess for this was that it would be 2-3 weeks, but he said he couldn't say for sure. However, ALL hoodscoops will be unpainted regardless of your initial order.
-Min was very cool and apologetic about the matter...and is trying to repair this clusterf*&k as well as a lot of bad press MB has been getting about bodystuff not fitting correctly.
So good luck, hopefully you'll be getting a call and your money back, as well as a free hoodscoop soon.

so it sounds like Min et. al. got the message, and are trying to repair things. Hope it goes through. :)

they wouldn't even email be back about my complaint.......so now i'll just have to give them a call and see if they'll be nice enough to honor the piece of shiiiit kit that they sent me and give me a full refund+shipping....we'll all see......

Well,
In leu of all of the negativity, where the hell am I going to get a Kam front now? It looked like MB was the no questions place to go for price and quality until I read all of the above. I was about to place an order today too. $%#@! Is there any other place to get a Kam front for their price ($359+shipping for urethane)??
HELP!!!
I was in on the 'hoodscoop' group buy about 6 months ago. Good price / good product / on time = no problems.
Again for fairness, here is the other side of that story.
I did get my refund, and they are going to send me a free hoodscoop now.
Here's Min's email to me from my paypal refund:
"We apologize for the long delay in your order. A series of many unexpected delays and problems have caused your order to take much longer than acceptable. We recognize our mistake and appreciate your patience. To remedy this situation weare sending you a full refund for the painted hood scoop you purchased. However, this does not mean we are cancelling your order. We will be shipping you a hood scoop for FREE OF CHARGE. Please note that the hood scoop will be unpainted fiberglass regardless of your original order (we no longer can get these painted in a timely manner). Your local body shop should be able to paint the piece for you. Again, thank you for your patience."
I'm glad to see that they are trying to remedy this.
A few things
MB doesnt not make Kaminari parts its bought from Kaminari direct and same as wings west too. Just as they dont make their own bulbs, guages or tail lamps they sell.
The part that bug me is people complaining about Body kits made by other companies.
See MB is a middle man bringing people low prices reguardless of the the item. They sell exhausts, intakes, and pulleys and if they were fauly the manufacturer would be to blame right. Do you guys get mad at the sellers of apc or apc itself?
I can tell you Ive never seen a Buddy Club, Blitz Body kit, Trd knock off etc fit well reguardless where its from. They are altered or copied by other companies and also cookie cutter kits spun off from hondas. My advise dont buy them no one I know is happy with them.
These same kits are sold everywhere in many import shops. Do you research before you buy the kit on the board everyone will tell you the real deal on these body kits. Dont just take it out of MB.
I can understand if you bought a scoop, a tiefighter wing, or a revmotion bumper and it was faulty. MB has a company that makes these from them and MB would be the one to blame.
Most of these complaints are becouse of research issues or not taking your complaints or problems to MB first.
If you have a problem Min the owner is a good guy and he will address your problems. Complain first before you take action like for example drilling new hole in your hood. MB will work it out and send you a new one. MB are not intentionly buning anybody. Lates

I ordered the front Blitz (import version) awhile ago from Min; he was cool about he price, but he sent the stuff a week late. Then again, when i ordered an unpainted hood scoop, he gave me a pretty decent discount to make up for the late shipment last time. However, the fitment of the Blitz front was not as expected; i had to pay extra to get it fix and paint. On the other hand, the hood scoop was a perfect fit and shipped on time. If any of you have any problem(s) with the order, talk to Min and i'm sure he can work things out. So i guess i had a good experience with MB and Min, himself.

new_name: I am not sure who you are but I am in the office during irregular times. call me on a monday/wed/fri in the morning and that is your best bet to reach me.
as for kaminari...we are one of the larger kaminari distributors on the west coast. Don't believe us? CALL KAMINARI AND ASK. We STOCK real kaminari (most competitors don't). Kaminari fits perfectly and comes with a warranty.
as for hood scoops...we are still working on getting them all out. If you didn't recieve yours but you did recieve a refund them email me to be sure your name is on the list. minboost@mbautosport.com
as for fitment...it is stated plainly on our web site that some fiberglass kits require modification for fitment. Honestly, some fit perfect, some not so great, and some really really bad. If you want to know how a kit fits, just ask and we'll tell you what we know (we don't do installs here, so everything we hear is feedback from customers or manufacturers). There are many tricks of the trade that body shops use to install kits. Some shops don't know these tricks and will charge you to do it the hard way. They charge by the hour, hard way takes longer, you pay more to install. We have no control over your body shop overcharging you or being underskilled. We are doing our best to get the best fitting kits and we do switch manufacturers/suppliers when necessary. No, we do not make our own kits in-house. If you get the kit and it is damaged in any way, have the delivery driver note it. We fully insure every package from damage and yes, damage can occur even if the box appears to be in good condition.
as for email response...sometimes it is slow (like now - our email server is down). We do have a toll-free number you can call for immediate help 1-866-4MB-KITS.
as for TomD and the groupbuy...he contacted me a few times. He asked for quotes, sent me a list of names, and then I never heard from him again. He sent me the list and said he'd send the payment but we never received anything or heard from him again. I left a message with someone (his mother?) to find out what was going on and he never called back. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do if you sent him money. One participant did come by himself and pay in cash and he got his hood. That was the only one that came through. We did not have any problem delivering had Tom completed the transaction. Sadly, it sounds like he isnt' responding to anyone?

Matt,
You should have done this first place...Tom is not trying to scam like Monkey, is he? And for Min, you will need to come in more frequently to hear your customers voices whether they say bad things or positive things. It is only natural to hear two sides when doing business.

I've only come in here lately because someone told me about the whole TomD thing and that we were being wrongly blamed for not delivering hoods. With hundreds of message boards on the internet, it is impossible for me or my staff to monitor/respond to every inquiry/complaint that isn't sent directly to us. Many of the complaints on this board are the first time I've ever heard of them (although there are many that I do know of).
As for the hood, you can pick it up if you like but we cannot honor a group buy price without an actual group buy. We would like to welcome anyone who wants to stop by to check out what we do here. You will see how busy we get, how much we actually stock, and how hard we work. You can also get better deals when you come in and pick it up in person.
Another thing - our phones. Our phones are still buggy if you didn't notice. For some reason when all of our lines are used the caller gets no sound or a sound like the line doesn't work rather than a busy signal. Don't worry, we're not avoiding calls! If you get a sound like that, try again in a few minutes. It's toll-free (costs you nothing) to call. Also, we just ordered more phone lines today (like I said, always trying to improve service).
Anyway, if you have any questions you can direct them to my email as you will get a faster response than posting a message on the Internet. Trying to call me is kinda hard since, yes, I am busy all day and in and out of the office. However, we always have staff on hand to answer your calls during business hours.
The trick to reaching me - call in around 10AM PST.

Well, I am a very dissatisfied customer.....I have been trying to reach you prsonally over the phone since email doesn't seem to work very well;) ..........I ordered a Blitz bodykit from your company about three months ago and the product was and is still in such bad of shape that it is still sitting in my garage.....the front has two large gaps that show once fitted because whoever sanded it sanded it down about 2inches too far.....the rear cant even be bolted on because there is only about a half of inch of latch to try and bolt it on...impossible:mad: .........unless I pay big bucks to get it customed.....and the rear also came with air bubbles all over it:angry: .....200 $ for a paint job just to have the bubbles peel and spend more $ to fill it and paint it again......or wait I could jus fill it in the first place.....duh:stupid: ........that'll save me save me $.....oh but wait i'll still lose out though because the air bubbles were never supposed to be there in the first place:rolleyes: ......and the sides, i was too afraid too put it on because i have been traumatized from what i've seen with the front and rear:AF: .....maybe once i graduate from college i can finally afford to spend over a 1000$, yeah the bobyshops have to do it the HARD way because i live in WI,so dont worry im not blaming you on that one:bs: ....., to fix something that could have been prevented IF mb could've spent 30 seconds to look at the kit for a quality inspection before sending it out to their VALUED CUSTOMERS....oh, i forgot you're too busy....hey, atleast you made about 600$ off of me......im jus glad one of us benefited from this business deal:fawk: .....

air bubbles...
I'm not sure what you mean but if you mean a pocket of air between the gel coat and fiberglass that causes chipping you can use a ruler or piece of something stiff and tap away the clear coat and apply polyester filler to the imperfection. Let it dry and sand it down smooth. This whole process (not counting drying time and using an orbital sander) should take you about 30 minutes or less.
Ofcourse, your body shop may tell you it will take days, require many hours of labor, etc etc. They probably charge a lot per hour.
Imperfections such as this are common with aftermarket fiberglass body kits. Some are better than others but honestly this problem is very minor. However, to the inexperienced individual or body shop this may seem like a huge and costly problem.
FWIW I've seen some body shops complain about super-high quality body kits such as Kaminari, Bomex, etc. They complain of "pin-holes" or "imperfections" that they make out to be much more serious than they really are.
The rear should have plenty of mounting area. Try using self-tapping stainless screws and not factory bolts. Factory bolts are often too thick in diameter which would leave too little fiberglass material to properly support your bumper. If you must make those spots bigger, get a sheet of fiberglass, resin, and hardener and add it to that spot. It won't take more than 1 hour (not including drying time).
Unfortunately you are at the mercy of your body shop and whatever they say and whatever they want to charge. It's not always 100% the body shop who is intentionally trying to overcharge you, but often times they can make small modifications seem like big (expensive) ones.
I can only recommend finding a shop that knows how to do it correctly that will charge a reasonable price.
If you want to call it bs, give me the finger, and whatever else then that is your choice. I see several other posts on this board (and others) where people have had the same experience with other companies and other manufacturers of body kits. Those seem to get a lot less attention than the MB threads. It could be because we have an MB-hater as a moderator who is conveniently sponsored by one of our competitors. We're not going to waste time arguing that.
You can read my posts and I believe that my responses are informative and reasonable. I try to address important issues as they are raised (and as we are made aware of them) and have taken many big steps to prove our commitment to our customers. Does that mean we do whatever our customer asks us to do all of the time? No, we can only do what we believe is fair. We have a clearly stated disclaimer and return policy on our web site.
