what? when did Center Line start making forged rims for the import market??? They're really old school... prolly been around since before I was born. Wow, what a surprise. Sheesh, and lighter than 17" Volk TE37s?? That's pretty nuts.

a 19" wheel that weighs 15 lbs will offer very little radial support... good luck driving it around for more than a month without cracking.. remember that the goal is not just to drop the weight by as much as possible, but to do so without compromising rigidity... in that respect the volk wheels do a great job (TRD ones are good too.. same company rays engineering)

I'm with GTS LAID. I'm pretty skeptical that their forging process allowed them to shave enough material to make a 19" wheel weigh only 15 pounds and still retain the strength they need. But what can I say, I'm just plain skeptical about everything, lol.

To me, i think the Volk TE37's are getting too commonplace. I know they're really nice and light wheels, but it seems that everyone has them.

They're starting to be like the Konig Tantrums.

Centerline has been making wheels before we were even a thought they use a unique process of manucturing. This process is also used in the aircraft industry. They take an aluminum alloy slug and compress very tight to align the metallic crystalline structure. It is then forged into a mold then finally machined. I looked at these wheels before I got my K-1's they were about $350 a piece which ain't bad but there made to order and that takes 6 to 8 weeks. You can also order them unpainted. They are nice and are worth the money. Are very light and strong but the wait was to much for me. My car was on jackstands so I choose the K-1's. They are very nice and you don't see them to often. I got them with tires from tirerack with lugs and centercap for 1218.40 delivered.

FYI -- I called Centerline about a couple of weeks ago and the quoted me a price of 262.50 ea. for the 18's and that was directly from their distribution center cause there is not a dealer remotely close to where I live.

Hmmm, I don't know if I agree with that. A lot of people mention TE37's, but I hardley ever seen any cars that actually have them so I don't think that they are commonplace at all. Their price keeps them from ever being commonplace.

I fully agree. What ppl talk about and actually HAVE on their rides are completely different things. It's very rare to see a real set of TE37s on a car rolling on the street around here, altho everyone knows about 'em.
