A thought occured to me the other day... cars such as the celica were designed in Japan. it would make sense that the car was balanced optimally assuming the driver on the right side. Since over here drivers sit on the left side, does it mean that our cars come improperly balanced stock?
I hope this made sense

I've actually had the same thought, but don't forget that most Celicas are sold in the US, so they might be balanced for us (who knows?). All you can do is weigh your car, and try to correct any imbalance by moving the battery, etc.

Yeah, I have to admit, it is an intriuging though.
Not only do we have the transmission on the drivers feet, we have the battery (poorly located very high on the vehicles cg).
At least the battery is even or rearward from the front strut, no point in hanging it on the front like the old days.
I would like to get my car corner weighed at some point...

Actually the 7th gen Celica were designed in California. At their CALTY studios. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i thought that only in England that the drivers sat on da right side and that everybody else sat on the left side. I know when I was in Korea, the driver was on da left side like here in America. Just a thought.

Ummmm...no.
In Japan, the drivers side is on the right side. Same as G.B, Australia, Hong Kong(I think?).
