So did anyone else have a rough time removing the stock endlinks? Mine were a fair bit corroded and the breaker bar made the stock ones free spin but not free the nut. Now im going to have to dremel offf the old ones. One day I will buy a car new and do all the mods before everything gets stuck in place.

All you need is a hex key to hold the center of the endlink, then use a wrench to loosen the nut. Make sure you have the exact hex key size, or you'll strip the center hole. Spraying some WD-40 on the night before, then right before you try to remove them will help a lot.

I have phucked up my endlinks every time I have attempted to remove them. What have I learned? If you live in a climate where these stupid things can get corroded, don't even try to remove them unless you have air-tools.

You lie. They are that bad. I need a torch. Ive spent 3 hours now and I got one bolt off. I think all the dremeling i did heated up the nut enough to make it come off easier because half way through chopping it off the thing finally started to break free. So I used the hex key and a wrench to turn it until... of course... the hex key strips it out. So then I use the dremel to cut a flat head screwdriver opening into the end. Then with the huge flat head and vice grips attached for more leverage I manage to get the thing off. One bolt mind you, so i have to get one more off before I can replace the endlink. Both dremel battery packs are charging and this second bolt is worse than the first. I dont even want to think about the other side.

If you use the right size hex key and wedge it against something solid so you won't have to hold it, the nut will come off easily. The key is to get the exact size hex key. Otherwise, you'll end up stripping the hole like dmaxd03 just did.

I think the underbody of my celi is corroded more than most. The hex key fit pretty well, very tight but i think the combo of it being really corroded in place plus the bolt being slightly rusted itself made it not hold up. Notching the end and using it like a big phillips worked in the end. This second one is just locked on there though.

If you want to make life alot easier and learn from the 1st one you took off, take a wire brush or wheel and wd40 to the exposed threads on the remaining endlinks to remove... you'll be happy you did

You could also coat them with grease so they won't corrode any more, in case you ever need to remove them again (god forbid ;) ).

they really ARE that hard to remove. I had the hex key, WD-40 and all the tools..... when we went to twist the nut it was seized and when it finally broke loose it spunt freely like it had broken. In the end I had to grind both of the front endlinks off. My tip would be if you live in the snowbelt and have driven your car for 2 or more winters.... don't even think about removing your endlinks unless you have replacements.

Thanks for the help yall. I still have that second bolt to get off. I have dremeled most of the way through it but night closed in and batteries needed charging so I will be getting to it eventually. I guess this just goes as a warning to anyone thinking about it to thingk twice and be ready to destroy them if you want to replace them.

I have a corded one but no extension cords long enough to get power to the parkinglot of my apt complex. It blows not having a garage. I want a real disk grinder.
