Well it worked that time.....:stupid: Ok so anyway.... I hope everyone comes this Sunday. I want good footage from inside and outside the car of everybody. That means you'll have to space out more. Then we can go to my place and watch Initial D while cooking burgers. If you don't know what Initial D is don't worry.....you WILL  Initial D
I'd like to get together before Sunday too so whoever wants to hang out just say so. I will have my wheels on Wed. :applaud: I hope.....its about d**m time. Oh I also am getting a blue Injen CAI...hopefully Barry will help me install it. Talk soon.

Well-driven Miata's destroy about everything autoxing. They are very capable. Although Ken Rupp makes up that gap in his GT =)

I meant I wanted to see how Cody does handling the Miata instead of the Celica, RWD is completly different then FWD.
skatamatic
03-19-2002, 01:53 PM
yup, im kinda hesitant to run it cuz the way i drive and not being real used to RWD's. i tend to keep on the gas hard through the turns which works in the celi but i'm afraid it might loose it in the miata. i'm still curious about it though so i'll probably end up taking it out one day. and more burgers and initial D sound good, i've been enjoying that combo lately :). and i'll be around all weekend too so we can all meet up friday or saturday too if anyone wants to. maybe it'd be a good time to venture up to barrett now that its getting warm again. just a thought...

Hi everyone! Well I tried to get on here when I got home sunday night but it was down again. How did the auto cross go last weekend? I ordered the TRD spring/strut combo today. I decided that the inch would be fine. The TRD Eibach springs are rated at 1 1/8 front and 3/4 to 1 inch in the back so it should be almost the same as the TRD japan 1 inch drop springs. I'm planning on going to the auto cross sunday.

wow, an autocross on a day that i'm free! yeah.. that'll be nice. too bad my tires are nice and worn. maybe this event will wear them down enough to convince me to order the 712's..

hey duncan, glad to see you're back. the autocross was crap, or my tires were at least. and it was insanely cold. i ended up getting 6th out of 14 cars i think. i'll be running on the 18's again this weekend since they're now rotated so hopefully that will be a little better. oh, and registration for the afternoon is usually at 11:00 but lately they've been running a little behind. i just hope they'll give us a full 4 runs this time instead of just 3.

What's up everyone? Long time no talk. Just wanted to say hey.
I got my R.Indiglo's installed this weekend. I love em'. Also got some frosted clears. They make the front look so much better. I'm undecided on my next mod. I either want springs, hoodscoop, or the aem underdrive pulley. I'm kinda leaning towards the pulley cause my belt is squeeling more often now and it needs to be replaced anyway, I dunno. What do you think?

ooh...buy the hoodscoop jamie! if you're interested in a slightly blemished carbon blue one, i'll hook you up with a real cheap deal again. cuz i just might have a new hood on the way...:). it has those real small pen sized bumps on one size that aren't real noticable unless you get up close, but since it has those i'll let it go cheap. let me know if you're interested.

Roxanne I think your luck became mine, I just recieved my Helmet and they sent the wrong face shield, The face shield they sent is for snowmobiling. That sucks but the helmet looks really cool, I just e-mailed helmetcity and hopefully they will just send me the correct face shield so I don't have to send the helmet back.

yeah, the cold probably had a lot to do with your lack of grip from the tires. Especially since you have to just sit in between runs they probably never get enough heat in to them to get sticky. What hood are you getting? Did yours come in yet Rox? Nick said we wants to go to the auto cross sunday. How soon did your springs get here Mark? I doubt mine will be here by then but it would be nice if they are.
skatamatic
03-20-2002, 04:51 AM
i never thought of the cold affecting the tires, that could have had something to do with it but they also looked like they had no grip left (which was also true). that sucks about the snowmobiling face shield. and duncan, me and rox both have TC spoilers CF hoods on the way. they're supposed to be real nice and hopefully not broken.
-cody
2kgtx
03-20-2002, 02:20 PM
haha not broken, that would suck if the next set of hoods came in broken as well, Of course I would not want to be near Roxanne if thats the case she was pissed when she saw that it was broken,
Duncan My springs got here in about 7 or 8 days, so your right they probably wont be here in time for sunday but they will be here sometime next week I'm sure.

Damn, I hadn't heard about Rox's hood being broken. I bet she was pissed. So your getting the Falken Azenis Cody? I was talking to our tire Tech from Michelin and he suggested the BF Goodrich KD T/A. He didn't know much about the Falkens, but I've heard elsewhere that they are really good. I'm hoping to get some 18's in the next month or so and using the 15's for auto crossing with some nice sticky tires.
skatamatic
03-20-2002, 03:34 PM
im still leaning towards the azenis but if somebody else gets another type that is just as good and preferably cheaper, i might look into them too. if not, i'll probably be getting these within the next few weeks.
cbr600drm
03-20-2002, 03:42 PM
It will probably be at least a month before I have the money for for the wheels and those tires. I haven't looked into the price yet. How expensive are the Azenis? I was looking at Michelin SX GTs that are probably not quite as good but they are about $89 a piece I think for the 15 inch wheel with a lightly lower profile tire.
2kgtx
03-20-2002, 04:01 PM
When I get the money I am also going to get some new tires for my stock rims, I can't afford to race on the same set that I use for daily driving, But I am going to have to wait until may when I go back to my Co-op job. What size tires should I get for the 15's I wonder in a 205 or 215 45 would fit on them.

i never got an exact quote on them but im thinking they were a little over $100 a piece for 16's, but i forget now. i need to find out for sure though and then i'll let you know too.

03-20-2002, 06:28 PM
Hey Cody, what kind of $$ are you looking for your scoop and when are you looking to sell it? I don't mind the slight blemishes, you know me, I'm not THAT pickey :) If the price is right, I'll take it. I hope the Falkens your looking at are better than mine. I got the ZE-502's and the stock yokohamas had better traction. They look cool though ;)

Let me know about the scoop asap, cause I'm looking at bidding on some springs on ebay.

That way, you'll have time to get your new hood and install it. If that's ok, lmk and were good. Good idea Dan I think I will do that because the stupid Face shield it came with has some streaks on it that i can't get off. I think I will just use the face shield when I go to Andretti, or when I get my Motor Cycle (in about a million years if my family has anything to say about it)

I wish I was drunk in PC right now. I'm ready for a vacation. Cody, I guess you decided not to go to Daytona by the way. I never even asked my boss. It seemed a little pointless to drive down saturday and come back sunday. Thats about all I would have been able to do. I'd be cool with a phase seven bike club. I don't really like riding my bike anywhere near Atlanta though. Traffic especially on the highway is dangerous as hell. We should schedule the mountain run we've been talking about for sometime in the next few weeks. We can go by Suches and check out all the bikes at Two wheels only. We actually would not be able to park there though because they kick cars out. there are some really nice bikes there though. Then the roads from there are crazy.

No kidding the roads around here are dangerous a guy in one of my classes bought a Triumph Daytona 99' it only had 6000 miles on it and it has a 900 CC engine, he's had it all of a month and 2 weeks ago on his way home from class some women pulled out infront of him when he was going about 50 and she came to a complete stop in the middle of the road he was all over his breaks he said that the back wheel was off the ground and the person behind him was skidding he ended up dropping the bike and had alot of damage, mostly needs new plastics and a paint job but still he is pretty scrapped up.

Wrecking a bike really scares me. So much crap has been going on lately I'm surprised I'm not scared to leave my house. Two different people have been killed in car accidents from the Panoz companies up here in the last couple months. Then I found out yesterday that one of my friends from highschool's sister was killed yesterday morning. she ran off the road on her way to school and hit a telephone pole head on. It really makes you think about how easily you can loose everything. Sorry to bring up depressing stuff like that, but I've been thinking about it a lot. I've just been realizing more and more how important it is to pay attention, because thats all it took was one little mistake.

It is really an eye opener when it happens to you or someone that you are close to, I remember when I was 11 my mother was in a serious car accident she was in ICU for 3 days and in the hospital for a total of 10 days I went to see her in the hospital and she was unrecognizable, she almost lost her eye and her leg so she looked really bad, I swore that I wasn't going to drive then I said I would drive but I would be careful, Stupid me 28 days after I got my license it was me my mother was me calling my parents to tell them that their car was upside down next to a tree and that I didn't know what I hit, this was almost 5 years ago I just know remembered what happend, I was racing one of my friends and I came up on a turn way to fast and couldn't slow down in time and ended up going straight into the tree, The car was demolished if anyone was with me they wouldn't have survived the woman who called 911 told them that she didn't think it was possible for any one to have survived the accident, I remember being trapped in the car because the steering wheel had moved about 2 inches from me and I could get my foot out from under it, the rest of the dash wrapped around me. as most of you know I was very lucky and only had a broken finger and a lot of cuts and bruses. the only thing that I wonder about is when I look at the pictures the steering wheel is turned all the way upside down and the wheels are perfectly straight, The car was recalled a month after the accident for steering problems but I think that also had something to do with the accident, All I know is I am much more hesitant about doing stupid things I only wish I didn't have to learn this lessen by my mistake and had learned it by others,

Its amazing to me how some people have really bad accidents and are for the most part ok, then other people have more minor accidents and die from them. I wish more people could e as lucky as you were Mark. Apparently all that happened was as she was driving to school(she only got about a mile from her house) her front right tire went off the side of the road which has a low shoulder and when she overcorrected she lost control and went off the other side of the road straight into the telephone pole.
