A quick heads up if none of you have heard about this yet, but Mitsubishi has a bot running around the web searching results for any type of mitsubishi that has been racing. This includes driving around cones in a parking lot!
The problem is that once the bot sees a mitsubishi (any mitsubishi) in the results it is matched to dealer records in the area and the cars warranty is placed on "restriction" basically voiding the powertrain coverage. So when a customer brings a car in for service the dealer tries to make the claim and they see that it is in "restriction" they can only get re-imbursed from Mitsubishi for the minor things.
I know from a first hand source how this works because he bought an evo for his son and they were planning on auto-xing it until their s2000 was done so they told the dealer what they were planning on doing and they thought it was cool. Well their first event with the evo was on May 16th, the day their warranty went into "restriction". They had some motor trouble with it last weekend and took it to their dealer and found all this stuff out about the warranty restriction (the dealers didn't even know about this bot program until they brought their car in). It needs some rebuilding work and the dealers service dept. was excited to do the work but the decision to void is a corporate level one that extends all around the country.
So watch out if you are planning on buying a Mitsubishi or know someone who is because no warranty coverage on a new car is not a good selling point in my opinion!
