Is it possible to use the strut bar without the camber plates? I have an old Hotchkis bar I just found. The bearings are bad and I wouldn't want to add the camber plates even if they were good. I tried a search, but came up empty.

i dont think so, the camber plate thing holds ur struts, even if u didnt use that, you cant really use the three strut bolts to hold the bar, cuz they would be used to hold ur struts...prolly doesnt make sense, but if u take it apart u will see =D

I know what you mean. My bar was already previously disassembled except for the plate that actually adjusts the camber with the two 5mm allen bolts and I'm having a hard time getting those lose. There's a grove under the ends of the bar that might fit over the strut towers, maybe not. It would work fine if the bolts from the struts were longer, but if it fits with that grove, maybe some tapered nuts and/or a little modification should make it fit tight and flush. I think I'm going to try it before I buy a new bar.
