in dash monitor

I have the option of getting one of these 2 for my birthday and i'm not sure which one to get, the Kenwood Excelon DDX7015, or the Alpine IVA-D300. Any suggestions

Alpine all the way. I have the Alpine Ivad-900 and couldn't be more impressed with it. Alpine sound quality is superior to everone else, picture quality and sound are much better on the alpine over the kenwood

I have the Kenwood going in mine this weekend. I played with it in the store and it's really really nice. I like that it takes up the space, just seems like it will look cleaner. I'll let you know how I like it and maybe post pics when it's done.

go with the eclipse avn5424, it is way better then the alpine and kenwood, it is also double din like the kenwood, it has cd,mp3,dvd and nav all in one unit for like 2200, it buy for has the best picture quality

Who is doing their homework and not just a Market Driven Consumer?

If the Alpine's audio is better, where are your facts? The Eclipse has better video quality? And touch screens will break quicker/ get smudged & scratched????

1) Alpine does make a fine product... But the Eclipse and Kenwood both have good audio output. The fact that you are replacing a 2-DIN with a 2-DIN screen makes more sense!!! A 1-DIN with a motorized screen doesnt get you more show points, is more difficult to install (hidden brain,) and is more likely to break (in and out motorization everytime you turn your car off and on; or act cool and show it off like nobody has seen a 1-DIN TV.)

2) How exactly is the Eclipse a better video piece? The company that produces the LCD is the same for Kenwood and Eclipse! Also, when something is an optical touch screen, it cures most problems of a LCD image appearing too hot or cold (Red or Blues too bright.)

3) HA!!!!!! When it comes to a touch screen (Clarion, Kenwood, or Pioneer) you dont have to use it! A handy wireless remote is included with these head units.... I mean if your chick has sharp a$$ nails and scratches your monitor that is your fault (do you let het handle you in bed that way?) When it comes to smudges, I recommend not using your car or audio system after a bucket of KFC!!!! It will smudge your whole ride up....

Not really. I've been much more impressed with my Alpine. My Eclipse had an RCA problem.

Mine Eclipse is all kacked up from my buddy using it as an "oh shiit" handle while we're driftin' into KFC for a bucket-o-wings.

As for the bucket-o-wings......that sucks! I just got used to the 55gal drum-o-wings too.....
