What does this do?

It's supposed to stiffen up the front suspension member to give you better steering and handling, but Tanabe's brace is made for the wrong side to help much (the opposite side is where all the stress is). Just like their rear tie bar, this one is pretty much useless because it tries to stiffen an already strong section of the part. The Cusco front lower tie bar is what you should get instead. It attaches to the opposite side of the front suspension member where it splits up into two extensions, with a strut at each side.

i'm not trying to be an @ss or anything, but look at the pic man. do you see where each is located. does it look like having one would interfere with the other?
this is about as bad as asking "can I get a cf hood if I have 17 inch wheels?".
in short, yes you can install them at the same time.

well, looking at the picture i can't really tell ... since the tanabe is v-shaped and on the picture it shows up as a straight bar. anyways, thanks for the info.
i just ordered the tanabe a coupole of days ago and didn't know that it's a bad mod. i figured, if i already paid for it i could also install it along with the cusco (which i'll order in a couple of days) ...

Yeah, the pic they show on the sites is a generic pic. The real bar is just straight like in my pic. If it was 3 or 4 point, it could've actually helped a bit. Installation is much easier than the Cusco, but then again, it doesn't do anything. ;)
