I'm in for this to. My only question is does it matter if you have your own gun or not? I know most people don't have guns and would have to rent them there and those guns aren't usually that great. I just don't want to go with my gun and have it be an unfair advantage.

it doesnt matter if you have your own gun, you can rent guns and Co2 its probaly better if you have your own gun but i'm not spending the money for one for just one game.

Yeah I hear ya. I just didn't want to get a group of 20 people to go and then have like 5 of us with our own guns. I know from playing around my area that if it's rentals against your own gun it's just not fair. The rentals aren't to great and don't have that good of accuracy. But hey it's all good and it's all for fun. Just don't yell at me if I turn the gun up so the balls going about 320 feet per second (Almost 200 mph).

they adjust em there you would have to look at the website but im sure you can bring yur own gun and the gun i had last time wasn't that bad. how about sat april 27th. i just hope it don't rain that sux. and they give you camo also but you have to buy the paint me and my friend went through a ful case so expect to use about a half a case of paint.

from what i remember about Skirmish, you have to use they're paintballs, but down the street the other way is Splatter and i hear theyre courses are better anyway. the 27th is good, I'll crayola it in on the calender, just let me know who all is going. I'll get off from work and everything so we can use the house and even go up friday nite if some of you want to. there are quite a few nice back roads up there to beat around on which is a blast in itself.

Here the pricing from Skirmish....

I figure we will need 20 people so we can get a private field.
If we hit 20 people its $27.00 each:

What's included: A Paintball Gun (your choice of a pump or semi-automatic), Goggles, Facemask, Ammo Belt, CO2, Field Judges. Play on the best fields in the world!

Extra Paintballs - All players must use Skirmish USA paint. The average player shoots approximately 500 paintballs a day. Our paint rates are as follows:

100 paintballs = $9.00
500 paintballs = $35.00
1000 paintballs = $59.00
Full Case = 2000 paintballs = $99.00
5 or more cases = $85.00 per case
(all prices subject to PA sales tax)

I also checked out splatter at Jack Frost and heres what I found:

GROUP RATES
Group Rates below are valid for
PRE-BOOKED Groups of 15 or more.
For every 15 players the 16th is FREE!
Group Leader receives an additional
100 paintballs for play that day.
Group Leader receives a complimentary
field pass for another day.
Splatter! Full-Day Play-Group Cost
600 paintballs with LUNCH $50 per person
600 paintballs NO LUNCH $47 per person
Includes field pass, camo and free marker rental.

There is also a $19 field pass

Heres what it boils down to:

Skirmish (need 20 people) - roughly $62 each provides 500 paintballs and private field

Splatter (need 15 people) - roughly $69 each provides 600 paintballs, private field , and lunch

mwz26,

I worked at Skirmish USA in '92 back when I was at Penn State. Since then they've switched locations but its still a great place to go. I'm in if we can get a group. E-mail me at richwilliams@mail.com if something is planned since I barely can hit this board (at least for the past 6 months).

By the way, I have a VM-68 paintball gun in rather good condition for sale if anyone is interested. Name a price if you'd like to put in a bid. I'm not asking much--$50-$80. You can find info about the VM-68 from any web search.

Waiting for the warm sun,

Will

Wow that's pricey. I would also sugest Paintball Adventure Park in Taney town MD. It might be an extra 1/2 hour-45 minute drive for some. But they got great fields. good rentals. And you can bring your own paint. $60 for half a case of paint is pretty expensive from Skirmish when you can get a full case for $50-$60 here in Hanover. Your field fees are $10 for a day pass and all day air. MUCH cheaper that $27!!!! If you bring your own equipment and paint. I play there all the time. They do a great job. I can contact the operator to see if we can rent a field for ourselves to use for the day if you like.

Also you usually use between 100-200 rounds a game if your the average user. Some use 500 or more. Others get hit before they get a shot off. I am pretty good at conserving my paint and use about 600-800 in a days time which is about 7-9 games.

I would like to check out Skirmish or Splatter as well so it doessn't really matter. But Paintball Adventure Park is very affordable and thier fields are outstanding. Best place I have ever played.

PAP has rental packages with Semi-auto marker(Tippmann Custom 98), mask, All day air, field fee included, 500 rounds of paint for $35!!!! That's half the price of Skirmish or Splatter!!! McDonalds is up the street, or PAP usually make and sell food at the field on nice days!!!

Goto: www.paintballwholesalers.com to get info on them. They will rent you anything you need. Let me know if anyone is interested I'll concact them to get more info for us.

krayze: Your looking at a good 5 hour trip to the Poconos from Pittsburg. To PAP it will take you about 3:45-4 hours. PAP is also about 3 1/2 hours from Philly, lower Delaware. and an hour from Baltimore.

so again, its up to you guys, like i said before though, we can use my house, go up friday nite, hang out, and then play all day saturday. Splatter and Skirmish are about the same distance from my house, just in different directions. Personally I'd rather go with Splatter b/c you get to play on the slopes of Jack Frost Mountain and i think that'd be cool.
