How Many peolpe hate the action package?

Ever were i go i see tons of action packages and people come up to me and say tight action pacage, and i have the kaminari kit and the RMM wing. and they look nothing alike.

most people are that ignorant. You have to remember though....they don't study the Celica like we do. They just see a 'different looking' Celica and assume that's what it is.

As for the AP....yeah, I despise the things. And then to see the owners act as if they now have such a unique and special ride.....no......can you say factory?

i like the way it looks, but i'd never buy it for my ride tho. i like the kaminari front and rear myself, with the r2 sides. i forget who has that setup.

when i brough my celi to the dealer to get the window plastic replaced... he said... "now THAT's an Action Package!" that was kinda funny

it's not that i hate them, it's just that they are so common... i'm used to them... IMO they still look nice, but it's still factory... so it's nothing spectacular....

I saw an auto GTS with an action package at the Honolulu auto show earlier this week. It looked pretty bad. I never did like that wing TRD developed. Save your money for performance mods.

I know a person that bought one of the first TRD equipped cars that debuted at the International Auto Show here in Honolulu when the Celica was first released. He paid about $35k for the car with all the TRD aero parts on it. He's feeling pretty sick now that the "action package" is a $1500 option. At least he has the hood spoiler. ;)

Did you make it over to the auto show this year? They had the new Lambo over there to look at. I also enjoyed getting to see a Matrix up close. I don't want one, but it was nice to look at. 3 days until the wedding on Lanikai beach...

naw I didn't make it this year dude! I was so bummed. I spent all day Friday installing my kit and wing on my car, and also one on another car. I was supposed to go after but I was just fully toasted. I had to work the rest of the weekend too. :(

You guys are tying the knot at Lanikai? Wow, it's really nice down there. Definitely going to be a moment to remember for you... best wishes!! Hope the good weather holds out! It's been totally whack lately... brrrr and freezing! For us Hawaii folks that is, hehe. :D

I think the kit looks good though, I don't know why you would hate it. This whole "got to be unique" thing is such a lame excuse.

Yes, we were commenting this morning about how cool it's been. We're just hoping for no rain and minimal wind. It should be nice if the weather holds up. I'm excited. The highlight of the auto show was the new Lambo. That was about the only thing I found really interesting to look at.

I bought a TRD Mechanical front bumper back when they were still JDM parts and I don't regret my decision one bit. I still think its the best looking front end you can get. Plus as far as the whole "unique" thing goes, I still think I have the only one with shaved corner markers and the whole license plate area shaved. I'm also planning on getting the TRD wing. I do think however that the TRD/WW side skirts are about the worst looking you can get for the car, and the TRD/WW rear valence isn't as good looking as as the RMM one. And I'm starting to see my fair share of Kaminari kits...

HI guys i just got back from the the dealer to get prices on supention and asked about the trd kit, well i turns out that TRD as discontinued that kit due to the front cowl spoiler and the rear TRD wing (not the normal wing) are illegal on the road... i think thats Bull **** but thats what the people said and i saw on the paper that showed the parts and it said "discontinued" by all the parts... it hella sucks for those who still want it. but i'm going to go for veilside front and sides with a touring style wing

Yes and No.

The TRD Mechanical kit has been discontinued because, Toyota introduced it as a factory part called........ "Action Package"
It is still the same TRD Kit that Jesse IL and myself have purchased in the past.

The only difference is the TRD Mechanical kit came painted from TRD. While the Action Package kit is only available primered from Toyota.
They are one in the same.

Reason they are primered is.. Let say a new Action package owner wrecks his/her car... he/she needs replacement parts right??

They are readily available including the wing. email me for more info.

The other TRD USA parts discontinued are the Fender Flares, Hood Spoilers, and Headlamp trim. That may quickly change, they are still available in Japan, we are finding our own why to obtain these parts. Stay tuned !!!!

I agree 100%. The bumper is definately aggressive looking. I like the kit alot, although I'm switching the wing over to the new Kaminari one:).

I don't know why anyone would hate the Action Package. If you say you want to be unique then give me a break. We have all seen our fair share of Kaminari, Blitz, Veilside, RMM, WW, etc. kits. No matter what kit you get, there's at least 10 people on this board that has it. I actually like the Action Package, and wouldn't mind having one if I had the money.

I do have to say though.. that my dealership is screwing me over. Because they are now selling some cars with TRD elegant kits already put on. Every time I go there I'm like.. WTF??? I'm trying to be original here.

i hate it becuase i paid alot of money for my trd body kit and now everybody in there momma has one and it sucks ass they are nothing more then factory pos i know what i got and thats all that matters if someone says i got the action package i am going to kick there u know whats lol :-)

i used to like it, but as i grew to like the more sleek look, i felt that the action package looks like the front exploded and sprouted flowers or something..... (no im not on acid) in short, the action package has a lil too much action for me..... WW for me....

Naw that one was owned by Eurosport here in Honolulu... I think you saw it from pics of Import Showoff a few years ago. That one happened to have sold for $26k after the show with 19" Advan Kreuzers, TEIN HA suspension, RMM intake/strut bar, Tanabe Hyper medallion exhaust, and TRD kit/headlights. It was totalled a few months after the purchase - very sad.

The one I was talking about was a red GT-S being shown at the First Hawaiian Bank International Auto Show at the Honolulu Convention Center.
