View Full Version : XS Engineering Turbo Kit Questions!

Yea, I know [search] button? I'm on a 28.8k at work so its not working to my advantage.
I've got almost 95,000 miles on my GT-S, and very well taken care of. Getting ready to replace the Liftbolts for the first time, never looked at them, Lift works but not as strong as it use to be, or its in my head. I'm definitly going to be getting my hands on a less-mileage 2000 2ZZ Engine within the next 2 months or so to swap in, and am going to purchase the XS Engineering Turbo Kit here within the next few weeks. Just a couple questions...
Does the Turbo Kit completely remove Lift? With a 2000, I redline pretty high in comparison to the new models, would it hurt anything on the Turbo Kit to take the car to redline? Any things I should be concerned about when installing or when racing with it?
Thanks guys!

It keeps the lift, and your redline actually is raised by their PowerFC program as well as lift engagement lowered to take more advantage of Lift + boost.
There are some mods to the kit I would recommand, like getting custom intake pipe instead of just a filter infront of turbo where it can suck in bolts.

better do some research on the XS kit...unless you have them install it you will have no customer support, and even if they do install it...their customer support will suck...XS can burn in hell for all i care...I cant believe anyone is still considering the XS kt

I have only one complaint for XS and that is the time it takes to recieve the turbo kit. It has been 5 months since I ordered it and I am still waiting.

you would have already had a SF kit and saved 2000.00 bucks....something to think about....you could always go tuner kit like me....we already have the MAPs....

I might have saved some money but I wouldnt get the power FC with it so theres another 1000 bucks.

Ehhh... am I doing my math right? With SF kit and PowerFC = $1000 saved? You get better pipping positions and support after install...

Actually you save more than $1000 because the tuner kit is less than the normal SF kit so its probably like $1500

They are sponsor of this forum, easiest person to ask is RADR1732
They are trying to fill all of their orders right now, and there are alot of people already waited a couple of months for their kits. Wait until you are really ready then ask about them, I think they should be done filling those orders.

Hold up, there is SF kit that is cheaper than the $3,700? I already have a PFC and if they offer a kit that has all the hardware I'm down.. tell me how much and who to talk to.

if i remember correctly... Sf tuner kit is around $3000

I have been running the SF tuner kit....as you can see in my sig, I put down the highest horsepower and torque for any boosted GT-S. The Tuner kit comes with the turbo, piping, intercooler, coupler and vacuume lines, and air filter....I do recomend upgrading your injectors and fuel pump or get the Stafford FMU to supply enough fuel....

So wait...let me get this straight...It's 3300 for the tuner kit...minus the injectors and fuel pump (both included with the xs kit) not to mention about 1000 for the power fc. Some places have xs's kit listed for 4900. That's not even trying to bargain with the place. That includes a preprogrammed power fc, 504 injectors, and a fuel pump. So, if both kits were to use the power fc, the most I see someone saving is 600 dollars. But like what Smaay said does recomend upgrading the injectors and fuel pump.
Just some food for thought

Stay away from XS. I don't like the way they do business.

yeah...no one does...but that doesn't mean that their kit is not good
by the way have you experienced their service first hand? if so what was so bad about it?
I'm just asking because I know smaay has a problem with them, and he has every right to be pissed, but I have not heard from anyone else having problems.

Do you want to spend 5k and run the possibilty of getting jerked around like smaay did?

I know there are others with problems with the XS kit...however im almost certain that XS is kissing their ass to keep it quiet...I know of 2 members that had installation problems and XS wouldnt give them the time of day...
As for the injectors and fuel pupm, its just a recomendation...Staffords FMU is much cheaper and works very well...you could always use that instead...

yeah but since xs's problem with smaay, everytime Ihave talked to them they kiss my ass, tehy wil install it for for 600 bucks, a thousand even for the kit, clutch, flywheel, lsd. And they will dyno run and tune it to your profection. So thanks smaay. However you need to get a custom intake pipe made to redirect the filter. But smaay, have you read what sf has done. People waited for months for their kits. LOTS came damaged and LOTS came missing parts. yes mike is fixing it but still. Not good

Not to knock XS but their very slow with delivering kits too. I ordered mine in March and have still not recieved it. I'm not too happy about that but there isn't much I can do but wait. I guess it gives me time to break in the pistons rods and clutch. It will be slow as hell with 8.8:1 comp pistons until the kit comes.

I know... I am not saying this one is better or the other is. I am just saying that besides keyshawn and richard everyone else is having struggles, weather its xs or sf

shamelss plug...no problems with c2power kits! C2power currently has 6 GT kits out on the street running, with no reported problems from the guys that have had it on a long term basis.

plug on brother!!! If I were to decide on a kit...it would have to be xs or c2gas. Actually...when I have the money for the kit I will probably review all the kits once more. But as of now my dream kit would be xs kit and sf alky injection.

i have the xs kit on my car and i actually got it pretty quick but i have to agree that the svc isnt the best. the manifold cracked due to hard driving and mass amts of heat so i called them up for a replacement and here i am, a month later and its not even finished. they sd it would be here 2 weeks ago but still waiting. the only good thing about it, is that i dont have to pay for anything (as far as i know) but they havent snt me anything so i guess it doesnt matter, yet! but i have to admit, when the kit was running right, it was badass. the car made 266 hp on a dynojet dyno. well over 100 hp over stock at the wheels.
