I really think you guys should make a turbo kit for the celica. Theres more Celicas out there than RSXs and you have already made the turbo for the RSX.
I think its kinda lame that you guys only seem to offer support for Hondas these days. I think you should take a chance and make a bolt on kit thats
been tested reliably (I know you can do it I mean come on its Greddy) and release it at a decent price like the rest of your products and I think that the majority of serious celica enthiusiasts (theres quite a few with some
bucks) would jump on it quickly. The lack of aftermarket for this car is nuts and our engine/suspension platform out of the bag is better than most
other companies equivalent and yet you still produce for other companies. Is
it an issue with Toyota? I just dont why it hasnt been made already. Its on the 3rd year of production for the 7th gen Celica and we still havnt gotten past the "bolt on" phase. Please help us out.

Heres their response:

Thank you for your view, but I am assuming you have never work on both of
these cars, because you will notice that the RSX actually has a lot more
room between the engine and the fire wall. Just to remove the factory
exhaust manifold on a Celica does take a lot of time. We are working on a
header for the GTS and it is still very difficult to make a good piece that
will install easily, and have good performance and clearance. We understand
you enthusiasm for your car, but you should not blame our RSX project for
the lack of Celica items. We do not have any bias for either car, it is
just a business where you must address the demand as well as easy of making
parts. I will pass on your request for a turbo kit, but please remember we
want to make well selling parts for all types of imports, just sometimes it
is not possible to met everyone's demands.

What a Crock.
there's that argument again,
1)not enough room
2)not enough demand
and then the whining, "Just to remove the factory exhaust manifold on a Celica does take a lot of time"
and lastly the defensive "you should not blame our RSX project for the lack of Celica items"
I so sick of this #$*@ from these guys.
well I think everybody here can sware off Greddy. So be it. TRD has one on the way anyhow.

heh... that's bull. so they wanna make a header for us but a turbocharger for the RSX camp...? either one wold eat up as much space. and that tiny compartment thing is a joke, if you look we have plenty of room down there, it's just how to get it in and out. hell it looks like we have much more room....

compare:

RSX

Notice you can't even see the heat shield nor the exhaust manifold on the RSX, you guys know how easy you can see the exhaust manifold and heatshield on the Celica. we don't have all those weird freaking tubes coming outta the firewall, notice on the Celica how far the exhaust collecter sits away from the firewall...there's plenty of room!

Not enough room? Sh!t, like the RSX has room!

Yeah, those excuses don't hold any water. So they're saying that they can't make a turbo kit because of the lack of space? Gee, if it was so impossible, then how did XS Engineering do it? If GReddy REALLY wanted to make a kit, it would get made. As usual, it all comes down to the profit they expect from their products and their short-sightedness about the Celi market.

The one thing that DOES worry me is that we have to pin all our hopes on fukin' TRD. Those guys are a bunch of flakes that have not done $hit for our car in the 2 years it has been out. Hopefully, those guys will actually wake up and do something for once. Sad to say it, but we really need them, since companies like GReddy won't get their heads out of their asses.

F*CK EM... I'm going with TRD when it comes out even if its double the price... "running a business"... requires doing "feasibility studies" and "market research" something that they obviously have not done their homework on with "celica enthusiasts"... Well guess what.. I barely do my own homework and I sure as hell ain't doing there.

this what i would have expected to hear. Guys gotta accept that Celica's are gonna get fewer mods than the Honda/Acura crowd.

Greddy is so Full of SH!T. They are just bias. For some reason Honda owners think Celicas are pieces of crap. All I know is I havent lost a Drag to a Honda yet so in my opinion. Every after market company can kiss my half korean @SS! David Draper for President. Once he gets our celicas rollin... Greddy will be begging TRD for info.

Do you live in Nashville, TN? I smoked a car that looked just like yours when I was down there last time. No flame intended BTW. Do you wear a a visor upside down and backwards and have bleached hair?

Seriously, that is a clean looking car. Not too ricey. It is my favorite body style 'teg. Not too many people have nice ones any more.

This kid and his look alike passenger try to rip around me on a corner and I just kicked it up and paced them and when we got on a straight away he swung out into the left lane and I was in the right. His car was pegged. We're talking full throttle fart tube here. I couldn't even hear my own engine. I just put the hammer down and left him looking stupid in the left lane.

I was in my Intrigue, BTW. http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smile.gif

naw that wasnt me...haha, i'm in california..thanks for the compliment though. Yeah I hate ricey mods that are done to cars nowadays..My integra is done up the way honda's were done up in the years 90-96, just plain and clean. I hate what people do to hondas or any other now..JDM is the $hit! And yeah, i would lose to ur car...I tend to pick races with cars comparable to mine (celica GT's, they have more HP but more weight than my teg) But yes, thanks for the props...!

Also mentioned that since people already have turbos on their GT's and GT-S's, it might be a good idea for them to stop telling people it's impossible.

Actually, a quote:

"However, it may be worth mentioning to someone who cares, the Celica GT has already been turboed by several private individuals (see: www.hotchkistuning.com/images/cust_vehicles/bill/bill7.jpg (http://www.hotchkistuning.com/images/cust_vehicles/bill/bill7.jpg) and bill9.jpg).

XS Engineering has already attached a turbo to the GT-S. People know this. They aren't asking for the impossible. They're asking for someone to simplify the process.

In any event, there will be turbo kits for both the GT and GT-S, the GT in December and the GT-S in January.

Since you aren't alone in your disdain for the Celica, these will be the only bolt-on turbo kits available in the U.S. (to the best of my knowledge).
"

Whatever. Let 'em miss out. I don't care. Maybe I'll start my own company http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
